Your descriprtion of lights doesn’t fit with UKW codes book AFAI can see. f11 is drain pump isn’t it? But you said it drains. So I think I’d try in a p/sw.

Sounds odd to me that this thing locks the door on you. Maybe that’s a safety feature to stop you getting burned?
I thought some oven/grill combos are meant to have the door left open when using grill. Have you RTM?

    Re: bearing tool

I got an old tube spanner about an inch wide and flattened the ends into a slightly trumpet shape by hammering and filing. With this drift I can get a good enough purchase on a small part of the shell to get it moving. Sometimes the shell shatters. The tool occasionally needs reshaping after a battle.
(Incidentally, I wear ear protection so as not to make my tinnitus worse).

    Re: WHP / Proline TDC75 (8540 635 15001) T/dryer stats.

Went back here today. Turned out there was a green paint spot on one of the insulators and white spots on the other three. Didn’t note that first time round 😳 . So I fitted them accordingly. All OK now. Asked customer a few Q’s. She said it did used to get very hot (surprise, surprise) and she was always opening the door before the prog. finished and taking the clothes out steaming hot! :rolls:
    Thanks again bzz.

Thanks for good info. I’ll give it all a clean out.

    Re: WHP / Proline TDC75 (8540 635 15001) T/dryer stats.

Many thanks bzz, that’s really all I needed to know. I’ll put the plain one directly in line.
I did think it a bit unusual that both stats had gone o/c.
I guess that it must have been cycling on the exhaust stat until now.
Perhaps I’d better order up one of those too as it’ll probably be pretty burnt out. Presumably the two safety stats had to fail in turn on the one overheat occasion.

    Re: WHP / Proline TDC75 (8540 635 15001) T/dryer stats.

Thanks bzz. However the ones on this machine had all tag insulators coloured black 🙁 .
I noticed that the lower stat was connected in line with a heater terminal so I think that would be the safety stat. But which one should that be, green or plain?

Re: AEG L16830 Dryer cuts out

To elaborate on what Penguin said, sometimes the coil on the dryer valve goes o/c after it has got warmed up. Usually gives an E10, IIRC. Try coil substitution; costs nought!

Well I got a reply to my e-mail,

“Thank you for your email and the query with regards to the spider. The diagrams we use are derived from the factory manifests and show the two items separately, however, on the factory floor these two parts are riveted together with non-corrosive rivets and are therefore sold as a single item and not available as separate items.”

Was thrown a bit by that. Was sure I saw bolts holding the old spider on.
Anyway, contacted customer and he had found an LG 8kg 1200 spin 2yrs gtee for £250 delivered from some place in Birmingham. So no contest really. What can y’ do?

Just send him a new knob to try anyway.
If the knob was falling off, it’s the obvious. You’d be amazed how dumb your own respected friends can be when it comes to looking at their own machines.

Could the potentiometer knob be knack’d and not moving the spindle?

Very helpful in my experience. Their website has a spares section somewhere but I don’t seem able to find it.
