Got two or three modules that look like that, one new, others s/h. Could lend them to you to try in. PM if that’s any use.

I think those problems are more common in hard water areas.

    Thanks for the diagram Mike.
Turned out the TOC had gone permanently open circuit on first use :?. Could be , as you suggested, that the little fan on the back was too loose on the new shaft allowing fan mtr to overheat.
Looking at circuit it appears that the element current has to pass through the fan TOC.
What I can’t understand is how that tiny TOC with its tiny wires can be expected to carry 10 amps. Am I missing something?

A pump seal is about a fiver retail so you’ll have to earn on the labour.

Got a customer with one of these. Dead reliable. Don’t recall having any leaks but has earned me a few bob over the years with element (twice) and door wiring. Alright maybe not that reliable then.
Nice and easy to work on. No fancy electronics. Parts cheap.
    Maybe just overfilling a bit?

Re: Much work in South West area?

    Hi Mike,
Sounds like you’ve got the right attitude. And sufficient training.(Quite a bit more than me). So I hope what I said didn’t put you off. If you can ride the slack times and take a drop in labour rate (I should think) then you should get by OK down here. (But don’t quote me on that!)
Have to say I’ve only seen two CDA machines in 12 years but maybe they don’t come to independents like me(?). You’ll need to cover all or most makes if you want enough work, either that or a very wide area.
There again they’re planning to build thousands upon thousands of new homes around here according to the council’s 20 year plan. So maybe we’re going to become a bit more urbanised? All has to be done without increasing the road provision though!!! :hmm: And against massive public opposition. :nono:

Went back to this today and got into “last alarm code” from position 10.
It read E82 which is “error in selector reset position” > “possible fault = PCB faulty”. Plan to send board to EMW. Meantime, anyone else ever had this fault? I’m wondering if the selector switch might just need a spray of switch cleaner? Wish I’d thought of that whilst still at the house.

Re: Schreiber built in wash machine. 10yo What make might it

Hah. Job was booked for 1pm. Customer rings at noon, very apologetic, says he’s just been up to it and checked and it works perfectly. Another false alarm probably due to holiday cottage punters not being familiar with machine. Resolve to put my call out charge up for holiday properties because of extra hassle.
Anyway it’ll probably come back in a month or two with a burnt out on/off switch.

Re: Hoover Vision VHD 814 Jumps into spin

That comes up as P55TF on connect (no pic tho’) so I think you should have a look at your six mtr as “P55” was common on them. I’ve got a s/h one myself which I’ve been keeping for years. Was thinking of chucking it just today.

Connect lists a module for M6006. The pic shows a label with 1200 rpm. on it. And the text below says >1600rpm. 😕

    Hi htpnt,
I think the £12 guy must be on holiday at the moment the way my phone’s been ringing off the hook! I hope he comes back soon, I like an easy life. As for distance, I stick to a 10 mile radius max. and that only 270 degrees.
