If it’s spinning, then you’ve already been there 15 minutes!
What do the 10mins/job 10 jobs a day guys do?
    Mike.

Will try the Whirlpool site. Can’t justify the expense on the others just yet.
    Although might think about TDS.

Chris,I think he said 240 between L and E only so neutral may not be there.
Mike, you should follow the neutral back from the heater terminal using a battery powered meter or test lamp with POWER OFF.

You want to get your money and be off to next job/home but customer won’t get wallet out until they have seen that the machine will indeed spin now that you have unblocked the filter and let the machine drain.
With a modern electronic machine this could be 10/15 minutes.
How do you get round this?
    Mike.

    Re: in-line heater test?

Have you checked for dry joints on control board as Chris suggested?
If you look carefully you might see a burn mark or a cracked solder joint on the pcb.
    POWER OFF OF COURSE.

    Why should felt wear?
Is drum lip rough? Or does felt require grease?

If Neptune were to substitute any Sole motor with same plug (most of us have a few s/h ones waiting around) would that “prove/disprove” the motor?

    Re: Gold Star Award/NVQ Alternative

Everybody round here knows I’m the man to fix yer washer. So if you decide to enforce this Gold Star thing I’m just gonna cross out “appliances” in my ad and write “general handyman” and the only way to catch me will be to send in Matt Allright (Rogue Traders) with his film crew. Fame at last as I get free TV exposure. (All publicity is good publicity).

    Re: Gold Star Award/NVQ Alternative

I think I smell something fishy about this. Something tells me the gold used to make the star may have been procured from Ratner’s.
In any case I don’t see any harm in allowing the local handyman to have a crack at fixing the Arseton/Indecent Margrit 2000’s etc which we are reluctant to get around to. Once he’s put all the wires back the wrong way round and the machine’s gone up in flames the customer’s had a chance to learn not to employ him again and to spend a bit more money on the next machine. 😉

    “motorised soapbox”? “partially switched”?
OMG, technolgy has overtaken me. How long have I got? 😆
    Mike.
    Er, technology I meant.
