Take out board and look for burns.

Sounds like some self-resetting toc is opening somewhere. Have you checked airflow and looked for blocked condenser?

Oh, that’s funny. I bought my present PC s/h over a year ago and it’s always done that. Got another one ready anyway and going to swap over when I get a quiet moment. Which I won’t get I suppose until I turn this clicky old PC off!

Pretty darn sure you’ll find it there. Although, then again, I fancy some old models had it in a plastic box down the bottom behind the right side panel. Either way, easy enough to get at.

Must be having a boring evening ‘cos I went there for a read.
    Found this sentence,

Bosch wrote:The average German household washes four kilograms of laundry per person per week, which means the country as a whole launders its way through 600,000 metric tons of detergent, over six billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and around 330 million cubic meters of water.

Not quite sure of population of Germany but sounds like a lot of detergent for a week, so rather than work it out myself I’ve sent them an email asking them to clarify what they’re talking about.

Meanwhile, read a little further down,

    Bosch wrote:BSH’s i-DOS technology.

Hmm. Couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate name.
On the whole though, despite my nit-picking, I’m all for more accurate control of detergent, water and energy use.
I don’t think we’ll need to worry too much about those sort of systems malfunctioning – it’ll either be a sensor or soap reservoir bunged up or a board change required. After all we’ve been living with sophisticated electronics for years and it’s scarcely changed anything regarding what goes wrong.

That’ll be a shame. I enjoyed watching, “Mrs. Smith of Hull” in five windows simultaneously with staggered start. Reminded me of Koyaanisqatsi. My advice is give up appliance repairs now and go into making films. 😆

Lots of dishwashers heat on rinse cycle, too. Even then, how does she know it’s on rinse and not main wash? Anyway, sounds like a no heat fault to me. No heat fault on Bosch makes me think of relay problems on board and then big ALARM BELL says, check model no. against recall list. No idea where list of affected models is but search this site or Google or Bsh site for “fire risk” should turn it up!

That job would have suited you Mike.

Ha ha! It certainly would have suited me if I was about 30 years younger! Don’t think I’d ever get a job if I went looking now. Shelf filler at B&Q maybe 😆 if they don’t go bust.

Have seen the 18650 type on ebay from China for pennies. Could be OK for cheaper drill. Or dismantle old laptop battery. These packs normally contain protection devices against thermal overload which must not be over-ridden of course.

Tub rear half is the only thing listed at Connect but you’ll probably find you can get bearings and seal from pretty much anywhere if you can make it a two trip job and get the old kit out first. From picture on Connect it looks like an LG type tub. Is it direct drive?

Re: Bosch D/W impellor jug question

Doesn’t “check water” mean not filling fast enough? So probably the inlet hose is dripping and leading to their expensive kitchen units getting all soggy over Christmas while Jim’s too busy rushing around keeping his precious 95 series collection in order to even have time to ask for a model number 😀 .
