    Found this for you adv

but this fault is quite common and I wouldn’t rely too heavily on the info. therein. Maybe EMW do these boards now.

Not sure what 6 flashes is but flow meter was always 7 in my experience 😕
Symptoms suggest it’ll be one of them carppy Askoll style circulation motors.

Could be a capacitor going down on the board. Read pcb repairs sticky for insights.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Had a few of those lately. Made efforts and found the number and email from internet on last occasion over a week ago, as it’s someone with a business. Rang both phones, no answer, no answerphone 😡 . No reply to email.
    Too bad for them.
I used to have a number display which recorded the last 30 calls so I could find numbers like that (if they weren’t ex-direc.) but it went wrong and the 99p one I got off ebay doesn’t do that. For people that want more business it would be worth getting the more expensive display I suppose 😉 .

Martin wrote::hmm: Makes me wonder what you guys use when it comes to also needing a cordless to drill a few holes

Can actually manage 4mm holes in e.g. element brackets with my 7.2v – only a few per charge but don’t need to do that usually anyway. Could do with more oomph getting Zanussi split tub screws started though. I think that’s when I realised the batteries were starting to weaken.
For a long time I resisted the lure of a powered screwdriver at all because of the extra weight in my toolbag 🙂 .

Exactly same logic as our customers then. We can’t moan about them when we do the same.

I’m sure I’ve read of similar happenings on here a few times. I once had a Bosch that did the same.

Been using a Bosch 7.2v for a couple of years and it’s been great. Only just lately I thought I detected a slight tiredness as though it had lost a bit of power. Gave Bosch a ring and asked if I could get replacement lithium battery pack. ‘Fraid not sir. All sealed unit. said the man in technical. 👿
Anyway, there’s screws in the handle. I’ll open it up when it gets too bad and see if a couple of those 99p Chinese 3.7v laptop cells off ebay will fit.

    Re: Hotpoint WF541 "Door Locked"

When an interlock shorts out it blows a small triac and the lock will then not lock or work. I’m guessing a bit but I think in this case that triac may have gone short cicuit thus allowing current to flow through the door lock heater when it shouldn’t. Get your soldering iron out 😆 or EMW. Would be wise to change lock as well as this may have been caused by aging lock. Could also be caused by damp / water ingress > corrosion on triac legs.

Hmm. Does that mean the call centre staff are on commission but they have to not allow that to influence them to try and sell the service? :rolls:

Hmm. I’m wondering if some manufacturer who wants to stimulate demand for a new product has paid these scientists to come up with this scare.
I don’t in any way wish to diminish the sympathy in respect of your misfortune with that cut, sce, but if you had been gardening at the time you could have suffered a similar fate.

Got to go and see one Monday. No heat. Will any of the old kits I have in stock (green, white, red, what have you?) fit or do I have to splash out?
