    1. I haven’t 2. Probably, but could be fiddly. 3. Quite likely. Suggest remove it (the lock) dismantle and examine. Better remove and examine electronic as well, as that may be damaged. Sounds like it could end up seriously expensive. Definitely don’t buy more parts till you’re sure you’ve understood the problem.

Earth fault means current leakage to earth, in this case probably through the heating element. Best checked with a megger. Do a search (horizontal menu, just above where it says, “Post a reply” ) using that term. That should give you enough reading for about a week. Most especially read the sticky thread near the top of the General Trade Forum entitled, “Domestic Appliance testing.” And keep your head down now, before someone shoots at you 😉 .
The only case of E61 I ever came across was intermittent and a new 12v relay on the board sorted it. (Again, a search will help you there.) Oh, and another search for ntc test.

Re: zan iz12 carbons, sole motor

Seems like Lux list only a new motor which means you can’t get brushes officially. But from pics of motor on Connect they’re the “side-tag” type.
I think these come in two different lengths, normal and very long. Have a look at Connect CBN9041 or 4006020152.

I think that’s a misprint. I’ve got an old copy of that and it says 6.3mm.
If the worse came to the worst, you could always crimp 1/4″ tags on the wires.
Happy New Year to you both.

Can’t find a 16 but 61 would be heating stage not successful.

OK, but can you make me one that will roll up into an old baccy tin so it’s not so difficult to lug around? 😆

Heh, heh. I’ve seen the odd British male driver behave in similar fashion.
There was one round the corner from here trying to back his estate car into his garage in a narrow alley the other day. He just kept going backwards and forwards, bumping into walls. He didn’t get out of his car and stop and assess the situation, just kept on making it worse. Made Frank Drebin look cool. Maybe he was afraid it was too cold out. It was too embarassing to watch. I just turned round and cycled away, taking another route as I couldn’t get past.

shes in her 80s and does one wash a week. we agreed the logixx were prolly a bit overkill just to have the made in germany tag, apart from that she wanted to spend under £400…
😕 How did one of my customers get all the way up there and end up in your shop? 😆

    Re: indsit dishwasher

I’m pretty sure the oetiker hose clamps are single use only. I believe they’re made in Switzerland and I don’t think you can get them here unless you’re prepared to become an importer / wholesaler. That was the situation last time I searched a year or two ago. Some have managed to open them gently enough with long nosed pliers to be able to re-use them but it’s not recommended.
If somebody here doesn’t come up with the info you need regarding dismantling, I suggest ringing Merloni spares line and telling them you want a few parts for that model but don’t know how to describe them. With luck, they will e-mail you an exploded parts diagram which will give you some clues about dismantling 😉 . Worth asking them if there’s a re-set procedure while you’ve got them on the phone. For all the slagging off Merloni gets on here, the call centre people have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful whenever I’ve called them!!8O!!

At the top of this forum the last sticky is called, “Diamond H wiring reference”
Ken posted a link to a pdf there which is a mine of information, though the pc I’m using at the moment won’t let me get at it.

    Re: Farnell spares

You need to open an account to get free delivery. It’s easy though, and the only bother is the frequent special offer e-mails offering 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off this and that which you never want.
Farnell do some good tools if you need to make that order up to £20.

    Re: indsit dishwasher

If you operate the anti-flood switch manually by carefully lifting the float or the switch lever it pumps out, right? If so then that’s pump checked and drain hose / fitting.
Also, is there a reset procedure for this one, e.g. hold start button in for five seconds?

You read something bad about this trade every day on here, engineers without proper test equipment, engineers that steal customers property out of pumps and now engineers who would give estimates with out seeing the machine! (Again, my bold.)

Perhaps this is the source of the confusion? It certainly confuses me!
