Of its draining while the lights flash then its an error code. Look on the list for the relevant lights

I just don’t understand the negativity from with in the trade at times. Im purely trying to establish what people think on the lower end stuff without just getting a single word answer.

It’s easy to be negative and say everything is crap, scrap or white shite but that’s nether constructive or the truth.

Every make has Its good and bad points, simply labelling everything as crap is just stupid.

What I’m trying to see is what we as engineers think is the best brand for under £350. Iv noticed every time some one on the public side asks for a recommendation for a cheaper machine the reply is almost always don’t bother unless your spending £500+ and then look at a Bosch ect.

The problem is the majority of people do not have that extra, its all very well saying spend more but often its not posable, I’m often asked my self what would you buy and I don’t tent to aline my self to any brand now I just tell them to buy based on there family needs.

Wether you believe it or like it or not Hotpoint is still the top selling brand although its rumoured Beko may have taken this crown in 2012 but no data on that yet.

Just been looking through Currys and at the 8kg minimum 1400 models and the 4 under £350 are 3 Indesit/hotpoints and 1 thing call a Sandstorm.

Interestingly even a Haier is more expensive than a Samsung and Bosch.

Another thing that affected this was the rise In insurance policy’s on machines being tied to manufactures. These has meant the the cost of repair is almost irrelevant as the they supply the parts so its cost not retail that they pay

I’m a firm believer in its how its used not what it’s cost, Iv got 3 £200 indesit’s in the family all over 3 and none even beginning to show bearing problems or any problems, at the end of the day machines being written off for items stuck in the drum are people’s own fault.

No matter the make or kind of drum if its used correctly, not overloaded and all pockets checked before use it will last a reasonable amount of time, you will always see some early failures but on average they will last.

Only yesterday i pulled a spoon, Nintendo Ds game,£3.23 and a clothes peg from a sump, what hope do we really have.

Don’t see f10 very often, its not detecting the pressure switch, its either going to be the harness or more likely a bad board. Doubt reprogramming will help this one

Re: List of washers with sealed/welded tubs

The simple answer is its a combination of all the things mentioned.

Pressure on cost by competition and customers, I know for a fact that Beko sent waves through the industry and all manufactures have felt the pressure from them selling machines in Europe at almost no profit to gain market share, then there is the Chinese crap.

Then when it comes to designing a new machine its very hard to justify from an engineering point of view, good engineers are constantly trying to reduce component count and bill of materials, the added costs of bolts and seal and assembly are going to be surprisingly high, it may only be a £5 but add this up across a line making 500 machines a day and its suddenly a lot of money.

you are going to see prises increase may be next year, Beko are going to start to increase price as they won’t want to be a budget brand for ever

I don’t believe for one moment welded tanks bearings fail sooner than split ones, what you may be seeing is more of them due to more of them being in low cost machines and customer do batter them, only last week I was arguing with a woman who’s bearing had failed in 14 months on a 6 kg machine. I turned up when it was on, it was loaded to the top, no room for sheet of paper, and she told me its on 5 times a day at least, and she was still arguing its gone early.

    Re: Lamona Washing machine

Thanks guys I’m just passing the info on to the customer, its a 3 year old machine that gone off like a bomb, it physically damaged two kitchen units and the worktop, the customer is claiming on here home insurance but they have sent an inspector and have decided its a manufacturing issue and they won’t do the work, they contacted indesit and they sent me out believing it was an Indesit asking for a report.

It’s a bloody mess mind, its never good when you can see the inner drum from under the machine as you walk up to it.

Also first check is the control knob clicking as it turns as this is also very common failure.

Re: Indesit Washing Machine – incorrect program starting

Iv seen this before and it was the top display card, it would only select the program that it was set to when it was first turned on, try something for me, turn it off at the wall and select spin only, turn back on and start it, does it do that program, now do the same thing again but select rinse instead and does it work ?

Re: Hotpoint LFT 114 still leaking after new seal fitted

Is it absolutely level ? Iv seen so many door issues relating to level is madness. Is it sitting on a tiled floor, are the feet on blocks or pieces of tile?

These machine are very flexible and if they are not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} level with all feet set correctly the door will not close correctly and the seal will leak as the cabinet is twisted.

Iv had an ongoing machine where its sitting on various pieces of tile and wood. Although it looks level it just twists the whole cabinet, if I pull it out into the middle of the room on the solid floor its perfect but once in the whole it just won’t sit correctly.

    Re: wmf940 f05 not pump

It’s not often a reprogram will resolve problems however in the last 2 years Iv seen and others have also seen it that this particular issue with the machine refusing to reset after an Fo5 does go away with a reprogram.

It like it locks out and no matter what you do it won’t reset

I’d order the board and 2 cards, give the customer the choice and let them make the decision
