Re: Lamona washing machine door issue

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, the door is not quite the same as in Ken’s diagram as it has no handle, just fascia button release.

The tenant has likely been pushing it before the machine is ready to open.
I just cant get the door to latch and the floppy pecker (ohh matron) didn’t seem right.

So if floppy pecker is normal it’s got to be an issue with the interlock itself then.

Really good to see they’re going with bolted tubs,I might just buy a machine to give it a field test as our old AEG is getting rusty 🙁

If it can stand wifey’s door slamming daily abuse it can’t be bad.

So we’ll have gas fired power stations operating at 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} efficiency generating electricity, which is then transmitted through resistive cables so it can be turned back into heat in our homes?
Wonderful, we’ll all be in fuel poverty if this comes to pass :rolls:

I find it silly and annoying too 😉

They did cough up the £56 I billed them for after a recorded delivery invoice was sent and a further email to ask if they had received it when I didn’t hear anything.

Barely worth the hassle. I’ll be demanding callout upfront in future methinks, and if they don’t like it they can find someone else. 🙁

So they genuinely intend to offer a bespoke order option… interesting.

I think offering hot fill is a great selling point in this country, the typical British kitchen/utility room has the boiler fairly close to the washer so wasted heat in the pipes is minimal IMO, and gas is still much cheaper than electricity.

I wonder if they’re going with sealed or split drums ? because quite frankly without replaceable bearings, its just another throw away.
Maybe we should do a collective plea to ask them to 😯

Cheers Dave, ordered a fresh timer, cheap enough at £20 odd to whack on a new un 😉

I do tend to make concessions for pensioners who are obviously just living off the state pension.

Listened to a phone in on the subject on radio 2, usual selection of nutters panicking about not being able to use their existing ‘Hoovers’ after the reduced wattage law comes into force.
Reminded me of the Y2K nonsense 14 years ago.
You do have to wonder how well a 900w machine can work though, more bloody Euro meddling :rolls:

I’ve done a couple of jobs for them, been paid for one but not the other yet.
They’re asking me to send in a physical invoice and then i’ll get paid a month after receipt of said invoice :rolls:
Haven’t got around to doing it yet admittedly, but it seems an unnecessary complication (stall tactic?) in this electronic age.

I will be sure to report my experiences regarding it here though 😉

I think they’re just using us for free market research though 😉 can’t see them building machines to order with this sort of detail.
Pity they dont though, it really would be an amazing USP and I think they would sell like hot cakes if they were built from good quality components and properly repairable.

    Can but dream… :rolls:

8KG 1400 spin with hot and cold fill in white for £350 (price subject to change 😉 )was my choice.

Seems pretty cheap if they can genuinely supply a machine to individual order! Or is this just a marketing stunt?

Thought hot fill was outlawed by EU ?

I dunno Martin, I think overall, of all the utter garbage on the market these days, Indesit group produce the very worst.

There’s very little in it of course I will admit :rolls:

Her indoors managed to defeat our ground floor 32a breaker the other day with her profligacy 😯
washer and dryer, all going full steam in utility room,dishwasher,900w microwave and possibly f/freezer running in kitchen.
Then in the living room, she sparks up the cylinder vac with a 1800w start up rating just cos I’m trying to watch some saturday afternoon sport on the telly (plasma with average 180w) 😀

Local sub station tends to send us a fairly constant 229 v so I guess that leaves little more than 7kw to play with per ring before the breaker gets toasty.
