ParticipantRe: Tesco Selling Bosch Washer For £99.
Yeh, noticed the same round here in the Dingwall store. Well, they had a wee orphan called servis but he’s stuck in the worst position in the store 😥 Lets face it, there’s probably more money in a square meter of bread than a low end washer.Lets hope its a trend that spreads. By the way Phidom, how are things round the coast in Elgin? repair work in this area has been very flat this year so far, im actually getting worried. Strange thing is last year was fine.. too busy many weeks, not sure whats changed 😯

ParticipantRe: AEG LW 1050 Bearings .
Well, aint gonna matter now, she called today to tell me shes ordered a new machine. ‘My husband thought your quote was too high’ says she. I had allowed myself £50 clear profit for this, was bloody making more on bearing jobs 10 years ago :rolls: Still, with everyone going to welded drums now it wont be an issue much longer. 3 year life & then BER is well & truly with us. 😥

Are you sure the valve coil is not going o/c or high resist when it heats up a little ?

ParticipantRe: Hoover HC6 160E , No Pump ?
Yep, if you spot a rusty pump on one, odds on said hose is leaking. Only a matter of time before all thats left of the triac is its little leggies. 😥

ParticipantRe: Teka Dishwasher.
Went to this thing today, didnt recognise it as a merloni but havnt being going to much merloni lately..for obvious reasons.. Checked pcb for poor edge connectors, looked ok. Bit the bullet and dragged it out over the thickly tiled floor with usual hassle & swearing. Thermistor reading about 11k falling steadily to zero when dipped into cup of recently boiler water. Dunno if thats normal spec. Think it could be more hassle than its worth but hate anything beating me 😥 Well, if anyone comes across a similar fault would be interested in what you find, Eddie.
