Have you tried checking pres sw system from end to end, blockages or maybe the pressure sw itself ?

We’re all gonna have to be more flexible in what we take on phidom. Gone are the days when we could all wander about popping in hotpoint carbs, door boots & the like..

No, our future is integrated dishwashers, 😯 : fan ovens, and all the other stuff the punter regards as a hassle to replace, nothing stays the same, its getting a tough game in which to make a buck compared to the old days though 😥

But if you actually want it to last .. i would agree, white k good budget one, plastic fans can go but easy fix. 6kg zan is whats in my kitchen running at this very moment. Apart from front stat failure , cheap 5 min job they seem well enough put together 😯

Ive stopped doing the ones with the scraping prob drum, the later ones are a breeze though. Although i wouldnt have one in a present obviously.. the very definition of built to a price. Wonder if anything will change when they build em in Turkey 😯

Fasetester, pop front off machine & take drum front plate off, takes no time.As Alan says, coin damage on raised inner parts of plate is soo common on these. Renew drum seal & have a good look round door seal. I use a 2 part repair putty to fix the drum plastic with no probs.

Oh well, at least its not just me, a fellow can get paranoid! I think its a result of the economic downturn, the sheds, & supermarket web sites are cutting each others throats at the mo, lots of unsold stock to shift it seems. Indy repairers are losing out, no question. I just keep hoping soaring material & oil prices will see the price of whites rise to a more sensible level. Maybe one day, but yes like you Phidom, im seriously looking for alternative income streams. 😯
