It is a well known fact here in the trade that Door Interlocks when they fail, do often blow the control module unit (Part No: 1604321- about £60 ish). I fear that has happened in this instant 🙁

Re: Not the advice I wanted

A very sad tale Tony and if it’s any consulation mate, we’ve all been there or at least can associate your predicament 😥

We can only learn from it after all and thanks for sharing it with us. The points in this case I reckon are:-

    1) Always get the cheque guarantee card written on the back as cheques cannot be stopped by so doing!

    2) Always leave the old parts with the customer for their inspection and disposal!

    3) At the time of the bearing repair job, there may have been a coin (or other foreign items) sitting in the drum you were unaware of. And in so doing that repair the coin found its way into the sump and pump after your call. Therefore (with the benefit of hindsight) perhaps we should all at least check the sump hose and pump before completion on jobs such as this in future?

What’s her name by the way? Pat-UK won’t go to anyone called Mrs Miles in future, so it would help with our BLACKLISTED CUSTOMER DATABASE

    Re: Woodworm! 🙁

Woodworm only affects timber more than 20 – 25 years old. Heavily infested wood should be destroyed (burnt) and remaining timer treated with a liberal dose of Cuprinol Woodworm Fluid. If any of the timber in question is made up of plywood, then the first option of death by fire is best as even using Cuprinol on plywood is not recommended.

Woodworm don’t do damp area’s by the way, so if it’s a damp area we are talking about then only woodlice frequent such. Wet rot is also very apparent in these area’s leading to dry rot (i.e white threadlike spores that only affect brickwork and plaster – not wood)

Deathwatch Beetle? affect only oak, ash and other hardwoods. Very large flight holes (about 5mm across) Like Kevins woodworm, they too only are active at night (hench their name) with spooky tapping sounds all night long (during mating season)…Again Cuprinol do a solution for these beasties but only direct injection through each hole is effective.

I spent almost 2 of my formative years long long ago actually working for a company specialised in those services. I remember with dread the 3 weeks I spent high in the roof of St. John’s Church in Cirencester cleaning, spraying and injecting all the bloody roof timers of that place. And woodworm treating the Officers Club at Aldershot Barracks for about 4 months was enough, I quit that game and have never ventured near a bl**dy woodworm since….so best of luck mate 😀

P.S I trimmed the size of your picture by the way, far too big it was 😉

Spookily enough I went to a slimline Indegunk (DG6145WG) today where the door catch had gone belly up. I noticed it too had no protection across the base either 🙁

No word from Trading Standards as yet on this (ever hopeful of course 🙄 )

Meanwhile be careful where you stick your fingers now OK???? :zap:

Thanks gegsy (our very own kung fu killer) but I have to say that is one bl**dy big interference suppressor then (its about 4inches by 4 inches by 2 inches – green plastic sealed lump with a connector block at the bottom)

    All very odd???

OK on the Safety Valve system in this case, then I suspect because you say the washing pump operates, then the problem must be the level switches I would think 🙄

    Re: Dear BSH Man

Went to a Bosch WFR3267GB/01 today and sorted it no problem, BUT whilst checking it out (like you do) I spotted what in fact is (quoting Bosch now) “A PC BOARD” screwed to the base frame at the rear (RHSide) with just 2 wires going to it? (Part No: 418791 by the way)

My question is………..”What the bl**dy hell does that do?????”

    Thank you in anticipation…. 🙂

As far as I know this model does NOT have any flow meter/sensor to worry about. Nor does it have any flood protection system in place to account for this phenomenon ❓

My only thoughts lean toward an earth fault (Motor or Water Heater?) that may give this spurious signal to the main module for it to go ape in this way…dunno mate, sorry ❗

    Dragan,

As we cannot associate the machine with any UK model could you at least answer this question? :-

Does the machine have the inlet valve on the back panel or connected to the end of the hose?

    neptune,

What are you on about? The photographs provided by dnaxton show perfectly the front bearing (in place & removed). Stuff a potato and boiling water indeed? The guy has removed the bearing with far less stuff and nonsense. A soaking in WD40 and a cold chisel is all that’s required in this instant.

We all adopt our own techniques in these circumstances and if it works for you then great and your comments nevertheless are much appreciated

I was searching for a part to fit a WMA12P on Partfinder today (like you do) when suddenly up popped……………

“THIS MANUAL IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND IMAGES WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY!.

……………..tell me I’m dreaming, but does “Technical information” mean what I think it means? Are Indesit at last going to impart something tangeable for us to work with on the next Partfinder up-date, TDS style format maybe?………..

    ……….nah! I guess I’m just dreaming 😕
