Most likely the inlet valve or flow sensor have failed. If it is under 2yrs old then call out Bosch to fix it under guarantee http://www.bshappliancecare.co.uk

If it is over 2yrs old then get a local independent to check it out here: Repairs@

Also do remember it is best not to fight the forces of GRAVITY :lesson:

Take door off, disconnect the hoses and lay the machine on its back. Then your mole grips, lumps of wood, bits of paper, socket sets, box spanners or whatever won’t let you down at that critical moment

…nothing worse than when your socket set goes clang then your spring goes twang! :rotfl:

Sorry Bryan, Chris and I assumed you were just enquiring before you actually went to look at it yourself, as customers often can give misleading information after all.

I could have sworn it was a time-out fault, ah well 😕

The 189597 Air Break Container I guess you mean Mark? Probably limescaled up then like the Zanussi ones get 😕

Funny you should mention that but again Qualtex do a very splendid CAR64HT with a heat resistant casing (up to 300degs apparently) 😉

Draining ‘time out’ is the most usual cause (i.e. Clogged up Vented Drain Container etc) very often several minutes may show on the display too 😉

    Re: TDS DVD

Beware of any Acrobat Reader up-dates, you don’t need them to run the latest TDS after all said and done. The old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t mend it!” applies here I reckon 😉

I take your point Mike but whilst your tinkerings achieve some result and as cornwell40 and others were referring to, it is (you must admit?) bad practice!

We’ve read all about “drilling tiny holes in TOC’s”…”Freezer Sprays” and all that stuff and nonesense, but come on, that’s not on, is it? Our customers deserve the benefit of our experience in correctly diagnosing the problem, fixing it and returning that appliance back to its original manufacturers specification.
For 3 years now Qualtex have been supplying these kits and many of us (including myself) have fitted many over that time (AND with no problems as far as I am aware?) BUT and this is the crunch….their kits are NOT TO THE SAME ORIGINAL MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATION….and as such should NOT be fitted by any responsible independent repairer UNTIL they are sorted 👿

    Do you not agree?

OK guys it’s time for me to come clean on this one 😳

…and before Dave gets totally GOOGLED!!!! 😉

By the way, you were spot on Dave about the Afghanistan bit, so full credit there mate 😀

The message was actually sent from Dubai to my wifes office in Newbury and the message simple read: “Is Guy in the office? If not I need to speak to him!”

When the message came through I was chatting to my missus on MSN and she forwarded the arabic script asking ME what it said (although she knew already at that time) I hadn’t a Scooby Doo 🙂

So I thought….why not tease the guys on UKW with this one?

And the rest is history……..sorry :martin:

The Door Interlock (PartNo: 154077) is £21 but before you buy a new one do try see if it isn’t just that the Bowden Cable has become detached from it 😉

Re: UKW Subs Funding – the future?

Ken is planning to put together a summary of the costings for this project for us to agree on and get into action hopefully (assuming you all agree that is?)

Once we get an outline of that, I shall knock on a few doors (PM other subscribers that is) and see where we go from here 🙂

Tony, Fred Karno’s Circus existed at the turn of last century, his reputation went with him and today he is always associated with anything that is CHAOTIC….hence my earlier reference 😕
