    Re: Bosch door interlock prob

Irrespective of make and model, all 3 wire door interlocks have one live to it (L), one live from it (C) and a neutral return supply(N) for the bi-metal coil. But that’s the easy bit to establish, the tricky bit is that most modern Interlocks have numbered terminals that very often don’t comply to a common wiring pattern. 😕

When I finally figure out your innuendo Bryan I will try to enjoy my Christmas, although I plan to stay at home like Scrooge and mutter “Humbug” a lot. I did enjoy my holiday earlier last month too, but all the while was trying to suss out why the hell you made reference to it at Sibson? 🙄

Meanwhile, as ever, I thank you for your good wishes :rotfl:

charlieT wrote:So if it’s not the pump what might it be? 😕

Partial blockage in the hose from that pump to the drain. (Tip: If the machine does not empty on the ‘Rinse only cycle’ within 60-90 seconds then that’s the problem)

Solution: remove the drain hose completely and rod/flush it clear!!!!

I think I twig where you are coming from now Bob and I’m not sure that too much of that happens anyway.

I do recall one instance where someone drilled holes in the back panel to access the motor as being a somewhat ‘over zealous’ approach to a problem perhaps? But in the main the advice given is generally pretty sound and helpful overall. 😀

Some guys posts are really very novel and most amusing, like for example taking a Zanussi drum completely out just to change a door seal? Very good stuff to read and take on board I reckon and a good chuckle on the way 😉

However if you would like to be even more specific as to your reasoning in this case, perhaps it best to PM me or one of my fellow Moderators!

    Tom,

It would be more effective being as you are ‘in the trade’ to confine your question to the trade technical forum 💡

    Re: Larger brain required.

Mikes ‘big stick’ was said a little tongue in cheek I suspect 😆

In fact the expression used so very often by us in the trade is “Poke and Hope?” and that derives from our colleagues in the Browngoods Trade. As they often used plastic/nylon knitting needles to tap valves and soldered tracks for dry joints whilst being plugged into the mains! 😉

I use a 4 foot wooden broom handle to switch Indesits on …EVERY TIME! :rotfl:

In order for UKW to appeal to all, the exchange of views and comments has to be free-flowing. The site is a broad church and has to be a broad church in order for it to work effectively.

We moderators do in fact discuss many issues ‘behind the scenes’ within our own forum. Often resulting in PM’s to many individuals who may have over-stepped the mark with certain posts, and very often such posts are either edited by us or deleted.

Many postee’s do get a little, shall we say, overenthusiastic and pretty near the mark but rest assured we read ALL POSTS and if we consider it inappropriate it will be dealt with! 🙂

    Re: Questions

The link below got me thinking about comparing ‘Customer buying options’ and trying to relate that to Project X and what potential value a deal like this put to your customer would mean?

Now if you take time to look within this link you will discover in fact that the likes of John Lewis, Currys, Comet are in fact offering far LESS value for money than Project X will mean overall.

For example John Lewis offer a Bosch AAA Rated machine with 1400 spin, a 2yr parts & labour,(extend to 5yrs for £129 extra*, they will even dispose of your old machine (but NOT install or demonstrate the new one incidentally) ……all this for just £458

So I think ProjectX will represent very good value for money 😀

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … 6936#56936

*I wonder how much extra it would cost to extend the labour guarantee to 5 years ❓
