    Dazza,

Indeed these machines and this problem has been encountered within these forums many many times. Use the ‘search’ facility to find specific problem models.

Make, model number and serial number is all important to use for identification.

The total number of rapid flashes between the longer pause gives the ‘error code’ by the way. πŸ˜‰

    Iain,

Clearly the armature is no good and needs replacing. What type of motor is fitted to your machine? A replacement armature is available for some but not all. πŸ™

    Razor,

I firmly believe if you are thinking of setting up a reconditioning service for Hotpoint/Indesit/Zanussi motors etc. It would be far better to set up a test rig that includes the relevant control modules for each type. That then enables you to carry out low speed/controlled speed testing. πŸ’‘

Simply plugging them into a 240 volt supply will not be sufficient but it would at least create a wonderful firework display I suppose. πŸ˜†

You will need a new water inlet valve fitting. Try Repairs@ for a local engineer to fix it for you πŸ˜€

Re: Bosch Maxx WFO2466 sticking on programme

Have you actually taken the front panel off and inspected the sump hose and the pump outlet hose at the pump? Those water return chambers are a sod for blocking too. Is does sound like pump time-out problems to me which would mean it wouldn’t even get to the final rinse although the count down would continue to decrease. πŸ˜‰

    Seamy,

Very unlikely to be a valve fault due to its youth, I would think it simply a pump out problem (blockage of some sort)….????

You may recall that I had similar problems with Goatboy, Funkyboogy and others over the time span. In the end they all, without question, have formed part of the greater spectrum that is our trade and have contributed greatly to our overall understanding of what is going out out here.

Encourage rather than discourage is the watchword I think, each and everyone may very well turn out to be a valuable asset after all πŸ˜‰

:rotl: We few, we brave souls, have suffered the same heart rendering moments over the very same issue by finding those same connector blocks on the end of the board that do not compare with the connectors you have to hand πŸ˜•

An 8 mf (CAP08) is the ideal replacement as you no doubt agree. And the failure I often put down to a combination of bad ventilation of the appliance coupled with high ambient temperatures (during the summer months).

However the later series of Hotpoint/Creda dryers with the direct drive stretch belt (usually 7.5mf capacitors) fail so often I reckon due to being underated in the first place. πŸ™„ But again the CAP08 sorts them out OK πŸ˜€

Having had a visit from my Parts Center sales rep yesterday to show me the intricacies of the new Parts Center website. It was clear that my previously established trade discounts were not in place on their site. I was told by him that Parts Center as busily correcting these anomolies and that I should be patient as they will be sorted very soon…..

…..and if they were not corrected in a say a couple of weeks, I was to ring him and let him know :con:

Droves of old customers are leaving and going elsewhere for their spare parts meanwhile and likely as not will never return πŸ™„

Don’t fret yourself too much on this Bill, I’ve come across this too and in my case it was a gents hankie stuck between the inner/outer drum that ‘sometimes’ blocked the sump outlet (causing the E15 -Pump time-out error) πŸ˜•

Take the front drum plate off and have a look inside πŸ˜‰

Re: Hotpoint FFA70 – Awful Smell!!

Frost free fridge freezers can often cause smells to overwhelm especially uncovered garlic adorned food or uncovered fish can pervade both sections very easily. A close check on stock and spillages is needed and close inspection of the door seal also.

In the worst of cases only a full empty and 24 hour full defrost followed by a thorough clean is the only answer πŸ™

    Re: Bosch SPS51225/07 over filling

The air duct sits in the upper part of the metering tank and feeds the water level pressure switch. But you also need to look closely at a possible flooded water block hose (to the inlet valve that is)
