loopy wrote:nope not after that, any recommendations for a condenser with sensor??
Oh dear you are making life complicated now….. ” Condenser Dryer with sensor?”….well if you insist then the Bosch WTL6106GB is a nice piece of kit, not cheap but does the job 😉
Vented dryers are a much more efficient and far far more reliable but you will need an outside wall and vent fitting 🙁 Condenser dryers need lots of regular user maintenance as well (unlike vented where you only need to clean out the lint filter) and when the electronic autosensing device fails….oh dear, better take out an extended warranty just in case 😀

I would suggest you get Bosch to call by and check it out for you. They will carry out certain functional checks on it for you and advise directly their findings and conclusions 😀
Even in soft water areas it is sometimes beneficial to charge the salt container with salt and set it on a low dosage. Also if your crocks are coming out with water droplets on them you may need to increase the dosage slightly. If they then come out cloudy, then you need to decrease the dosage slightly. The back of the tank can often have water droplets on it however, especially this time of year when the ambient temperature is that much lower.

Have you set the salt regulator (softener setting) correctly?

Lisa,
Sadly it is both illegal and unethical for me to specify how this is done. The legal statement therefore reads:- Always disconnect the electrical supply before attempting any repairs to this equipment. Only qualified service engineers should attempt any such repairs and/or adjustments.
I have to assume your husband may not necessarily hold the relevant qualifications for such an undertaking….sorry 🙁

Well I’m not confused at all by your last statement David, as that is exactly what I would expect your machine to do. It appears that your machine is working normally as I thought all the while 🙂
Specifically though lest you have any doubts, if you set it on say Prog 3 or 4 it will fill (mostly with cold I know) then wash and heat (a 2kw heating element heats the water at a rate of around 1 degree celsius per minute by the way), but the time it progresses to positions 4 & 5 the glass be getting warm to the touch for sure. That’s toward the final part of the wash/heat cycle after all! Then it progresses through a series of very cold rinses/spins until the final spin, end, job done 😀

Kurt wrote: The website you referred me to is Hotpoint, and I couldn’t find any reference or help there re: Indesit products. I’ve checked the Indesit site, and they only list 6 oven models, one of them being the FM 20 KC IX, which doesn’t appear to be an exact match for what I have. Again, your help is greatly appreciated!
Yes Kurt Indesit is Hotpoint, Hotpoint is Indesit 😯
Those faded writing by the door you found is the only reference as to its model. So if you think its exactly like the FM20KCIX then you best order Part No : C00090770 direct from Indesit and you can ring them on 08709077077 😀
