I suspect the drain pump is jammed up with something? Please tell me, when you start a programme (any programme) you should hear the drain pump ‘whirring’…..and the sump should be empty of water…is it in your case I wonder?

Phidom wrote:It seems a little harsh to say the machine has only lasted 2 years when the fault is relatively simple and cheap to rectify. Would you take a 2 year old car to the crusher if the central locking went wrong?
Don’t forget Phidom, we are talking ‘Ariston’ here :lesson:
A basic, cheap and cheerful piece of tin and plastic designed to last just to the end of the UK statutory warranty period, beyond that you on a ‘bonus wash’ every time 😆 Unlike your 2 year old car that was designed and built within very strict European legislation, strict safety requirements installed to ensure passenger safety, etc etc 8) …One cannot draw a parallel there unfortunately…………. 🙁
……… However, maybe it compares nicely to a 2 year old video recorder that chews tapes and a B & Q Portable Gas Barbeque that rusts through, in that very same time period :rotfl:

Not at all, it’s around a 30 minute job for an expert and a likely outlay to you of around £75 maximum.
If thats of any interest to you to get the job done and to see if we have someone in your area to sort it for you go, try this link:-

Very unlikely to be the board I reckon! 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it’s the Motor Brushes, even after a couple of years they wear out at quite a rate I find (Part No 91212332). Easy’ish to fit and cheap to buy…worth a go 😉

ParticipantRe: nationwide appliance delivery
City Link are the only nationwide company that can deliver ‘one off units’ but even they use sub contractors for heavy items using two man teams.
Therefore unless you’re trying to deliver top of the range Meile stuff its never worth it 🙁

It’s part of the Module Casing that has broken away, (usually the push button actuating tags) and can be replaced at a reasonable price direct from Bosch (Part No: 264946)

Participantpwhite8314 wrote:Do some of the better models have an auto ignition that just keeps sparking until the thermocouple is happy?
Not that I’m aware of, no. 🙁
I much prefer the ones without thermocouple devices that one simply turns on the gas then hits the spark generator button. Most of the current range of hobs use this method, it doesn’t have that safety factor yours has though but solves the problem you mentioned.
