    Re: Bosch WFB2004GB/26 knob indicator

    Simon,

    Bad news I’m afraid on this. The knob parts are NOT available on their own. These days its a complete CONTROL PANEL ASSY (Part No: 350364) comes with the knobs fitted and a new Dispenser drawer front. The Dispenser Wire is Part No : 066809.

    Hope that helps 🙂

    According to my records AL7 indicates that the main motor is at fault. Possible open circuit or even jammed :con:

    Oh! I see now…..yes then the actual switch will be at fault.There’s nothing you can do further, call in the manufacturers and get it done under warranty now then. 😀

    No! No! No! that needs to be “loose and wobbly” and acts as a float switch if water is present :lesson:

    Remove the cardboard and let it FREE!!!!!!!!! 😀

    Should work now 😉

    Dick,

    It comes as a felt and nylon bearing kit (Part No: 096416 cost £29.73) and will involve a complete dismantling to fit.

    Whilst that is very true, the holes positioning was wrong. However, it did not deal with the fundamental problem as to premature failure. In fact the ‘modified’ complete drum assemblies have not really solved anything and will still have a very short life.

    I believe the problem lies in the fact that Hotpoint have made no provision for ‘static discharge’, and no longer put an earth grounding on the bearing hub as they used to way back on the 95 series. Electrostatic forces come into play very much on these modern high speed, high torque units and generate enough destructive powers on the knife edge water seal by themselves. (After all, it’s the water seal that fails here and not the bearing, no matter where the hole is or was) Add to that, the corrosive effect of detergent, water hardness, stray fibres and pet hairs and we are very much talking of the ideal senario for early breakdown every time.

    ‘Modified’ ????? I think not 🙁

    Re: Ariston AF250 Constently in drain mode

    It is very likely the ‘Flood Protection Device’ has activated!

    The machine has probably a water flooded bottom plate for this to come into play. Usually brought about because of an internal leak, faulty circulating pump, leaky door gasket etc.

    Tip the machine towards its back slightly to see if any water leaks out.

    PULL THE PLUG FIRST THOUGH :plug:

    Probably rarer even than a WD10 that actually works!!! :rotfl:

    But seriously, what is the problem? The wiring is not very complex on this beast, I’m sure we can help out 8)

    Sounds like there is no power to the machine then, are you sure it’s switched on and the door firmly closed?

    Re: Indesit WE16 Error code FO5

    Zafira,

    It usually indicates a fault with the water level sensing system. May need an engineer it to take a look at it for you 😉

    Go into our repairs@ and fill in your details and someone will contact you to advise. (It’s not a costly repair)

    Re: Gas Tumble Dryers

    Paul,

    Indeed the gas tumble dryer is an efficient economical machine. However when they go wrong and having to have them regularly serviced, getting a ‘CORGI Registered’ agent to do that is the difficulty.

    They are hard to come by these days 🙁

    Chip,

    You will need to remove the rear half panel to fully access the water level system. Clean out the air chambers and their hoses, clean the sump hose and manifold too. That should sort it 😉

    It turned out to be a simple ‘stroke of the pen exercise’ for me to ‘de-register’. Paperwork all sorted, so from Tuesday (Feb 1st ) I am free from the burdens of Value Added Tax after 29years 8 months of being an unpaid VAT tax collector !!!!

    Free at last! Free at last! thank God almighty, free at last! (where have I heard that before? Martin who? :rotfl: )

    Sean,

    I am somewhat hesitant over this part in that perhaps it would be better to keep the AC members anonymous 😕 In case of a dispute, they may be unnoficially approached and possibly ‘influenced’ by that approach??
    (E.g Magistrates Court….If the ‘occused’ knew who the magistrates were before the hearing…he/she could contact that person/s etc etc…you get the idea 🙂 )

    Re: Known Error Codes

    Hoover & Candy W/m codes Circa 2000 and beyond….

    Generally they stick to the same error code system throughout the range these days, whether it be ‘flashing led’s* OR numeric display codes. Here is a general guide: –

    0 = Module Fault
    1 = Door Interlock/Door Switch
    2 = Filling time-out or Solenoid Valve etc.
    3 = Pump time-out (3 mins) exceeded
    4 = Overfill (i.e. Blocked air chamber/faulty solenoid valve)
    5 = NTC/Heater fault
    6 = Module fault
    7 = Motor jammed/Drum Shaft jammed/Tacho generator fault
    8 = Ditto
    9 = Faulty TRIAC on main board

    11 = Faulty dryer board or wiring (Latest Inter@ct models)
    12 = Missing dialogue between modules and wiring ( Latest Inter@ct models)
    13 = Ditto (Latest Inter@ct models)
