ParticipantRe: Another Idea
Ken,
I don’t wish to sound the least bit negative here at all so please do not misunderstand. Your idea and obvious enthusiasm is readily acknowledge for sure but ‘Out Cards’ are not the best route to take. I have no idea what rate of issue your company or anyone elses for that matter would need to generate these little cards, but I suspect a very low percentage. Besides, when a customer reads the card he or she is not going to look at the fancy logo’s and stuff but be totally pi**ed off at not being home when the man called!!!!
I have a much better idea……………..Invoice Stationary. 💡
It costs me a fortune year after year getting Invoice/Repair Dockets printed. 🙁 (Current rate costs me 25pence per invoice as an accurate example) Why not get bulk orders going using the same format and detergent logos and stuff????Why not get UKW to negotiate a deal with a printer for bulk purchasing? Each UKW company shares the same logo but different address/phone number/VAT number etc details 💡
In a typical financial year I may have less the half a dozen customers out by the way 😉 So no use to me I guess 🙂

Rick,
It is a consumer minefield out there. Word of advice firstly, never ask a salesman which machine to buy 😉
You only get what you pay for these days, the makes and models you quote are fine, I agree on that. Miele are quite simply THE BEST, Bosch come second.
A spin speed no more than 1200 rpm is favorite, Faster spins means rapid wear and are a total gimmick anyway. (3 bath towels will take 5 minutes longer to tumble dry between in a 1200 than a 1600rpm – that’s all!)
Washer/Dryers are to be avoided though. Buy seperate machines, much more efficient and your washing can be done in half the time to boot! These modern gadgets take hours to complete a wash/spin/dry cycle 🙁
Any machine with a 10 year guarantee gets my vote 😉
Hope that helps?

I concur that diagnosis 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}! Your machine should empty within 2 minutes otherwise the programme will ‘time out’ and display this error. In most cases the normal pump out rate is 26 litres per minute, a full load of water is approx 18 litres. So it should be empty easily within 50 seconds to one minute (well within the time period).
If not, either the pump is duff (most likely) or the drain out is restricted in some way. I would think you need to take the Module back and get a refund 🙂

lucy wrote:I wouldn’t actually say the spin was noisey.
Lucy,
The point I must emphasise here is that if you remove the belt, then spin the drum by hand, it should NOT make any noise at all!
If it does, bearings are your problem in this case 😉

GMK,
You are still a little economical with the model number BUT assuming it is actually a SMS6502GB/01 to /07 series it will need a complete Push Button Switch Unit (Part No:- 151864) at a cost of around £70, I believe?

Yes the SGI6612GB/07 is the fully ‘integrated’ version of the SGS series, and yes the pipe from the Pressure Chamber to the sump will be blocked with fat deposits need a clear out.
It is accessible from inside the tub (a 20mm aperture to the L/H/Side) can be cleared with a long thin ‘bottle brush’ 😉 A better fix is accessing the side panel, removing the pressure chamber, cleaning and refitting (better left to the experts though)

ParticipantRe: It’s that Bosch Again…
Cloviscat,
The machine has a water level control problem. It will need a bit of expert attention to access the metering tank/water level device. The reason you have to take off the inlet hose and reconnect means that the Safety Water Block is coming into operation 🙁
Have you tipped the machine backwards? and did water leak out? If yes to either, get someone in the trade to look at it I reckon 😉

ParticipantRe: indesit wg1130t washing machine belt
Lucy,
The reason the belt keeps coming off is almost certainly due to Drum Bearing failure I’m afraid. I think you will probably find that when the machine does spin, it is very noisy?? 🙁
A new belt will cost around £15 or so, and to replace the main Bearings and Seal about £80’ish.
Best test is to remove the belt and spin the drum by hand, it should spin quietly.

Dave_Conway wrote:Where did you get that price from ?
I just typed in 76X3719 and Connect quoted £46.54 for an Ocean/Brandt Oven Element (Not in stock, special order …6 weeks wait no doubt?)
I then thought. “???***!!!???***”
….I now use my initiative and serve my customer well with a ‘genuine pattern part’…thanks again Dave 😆

Your a star Dave thanks!
The ‘genuine’ in this case then is £40 odd as listed via Connect 🙁
B**ger that!
What I will do is whip out the duff element, size it up and get a £10 pattern one…The only prob is that will involve 2 calls by hey, ‘que cera amigo!…….Gracias!

I emailed D&G a short while back, and they have just stuck an ‘application form’ in the post to me today (just the form, no covering letter or owt?)
Anyway, I read the double sided form, they want to know what may labour rates are? postcode areas? products serviced? call rate turnover? agencies covered? bankers? bank account number? blood group? next of kin? nearest A&E hospital etc etc???????????? 🙁

ParticipantRe: Homark Fan Element…
Now I am stuck with a Homark oven element problem 🙁 . My customer has a Homark 01801101 built-in oven 🙁
What I would like to know is what ‘equivalent’ element should I be looking for from our ‘pattern boys’ 😉 I reckon it must be the same as an Ariston, Candy, Belling or whatever ❓

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA63 bearing
You will need a long 8mm drill to drill 2 grooves (5mm deep) in front of the bearing into the aluminium collar support. Then use a cold chisel to drift the bearing out of its ‘blind hole!’
Easy 😆
