    Ouch….! Steady on!

Have you looked at Stoves? Good products on a par with Bosch.

Good point Steve, no it wouldn’t. So perhaps the control switch could be suspect?

That’s fine. That will get you out of trouble for sure but not quite your ideal of wanting an integrated.

    Re: indesit iwme126 wont drain

The little permanent magnet pump is prone to failure. It may appear to run beautifully when it’s not under load (empty) but any amount of water and it won’t shift it. If the impeller has the slightest lateral movement indicates the bearings are knackered. A new pump the solution.

Also the ball valve in the sump hose can be a serious issue when liquid detergents are used. The valve gets sticky.

Another thought is perhaps a coin is stuck in the drain pipe beyond the pump and acts as a valve? Open one minute, closed the next. Worth a thought.

Finally, it’s an Indesit. They don’t last long, the mechanics are weak and the electronics total c-rap.

I hope that helps you? 😀

The fan element is most likely your problem then. It may have “continuity” according to a cheap multimeter but that doesn’t mean it’s OK. Check it out again and prove me wrong. 😉

    Does the fan work?

The depth available is your problem. I may be stating the obvious here but tumble dryers need volume (of the drum) in order allow clothes to dry, space to separate and move. 49cms just isn’t possible. Couple that with the need for the appliance to be integrated and you have two kinds of impossible.

Certainly can’t rule it out. Also those dispenser can leak rinse aid (if you use rinse aid that is?). It’s an old appliance so I wouldn’t be surprised.

In the trade we would check the earth resistance insulation of the motor, heater and so forth using a Megger. Without such a device finding an intermittent earth leak is a bit hit and miss at best.

    Good luck !

It’s the vent pipe that is part of the translucent vent tube. Clearly it has broken and a new tube will have to be improvised as a replacement on its own us not available. It’s purpose it just to allow any water vapour to condense and drain into the base. On later models the dispenser was redesigned and that vent tube removed altogether.

As for the RCD tripping, then that a more serious issue and it may mean further investigation as to the cause. Was the base flooded? If so the electrics and main pump are very vulnerable to water damage. Take care when investigating, unplug first!!!

How come it unrelated? It didn’t start before, you haven’t used it now it leaks. Did it leak before then and you failed to tell them? Or is this possibly connected to the last repair? Perhaps you could put it to them anyway.

It’s down to you to ensure the floor it stands on is level. If it isn’t then you will need to make remedial adjustments ( ie a level platform to stand on or wedges to offset the gaps).

Modern tumble dryers do not have adjustable levelling feet like washing machines do.

Doesn’t the repair guy give some guarantee for work carried out? Please explain.
