    Re: Candy Grand Evo faults

You measure the resistance between each terminal and earth. A 9v multimeter is not capable of registering a fault. You need a 500v Insulation meter. An essential tool we use in the trade in detecting earth leakage faults and checking the electrical safety of any electrical appliance we repair.

It will almost certainly be a blockage you need to sort as likely or not you will be charged for the engineer visit.

If the machine is connected to a shared waste then disconnect it, remove the filter and flush air or water through the pipe to ensure it is clear and not kinked. Double check the pump chamber (with a torch) to ensure it is clear of foreign objects. The third option involves dismantling the machine which will invalidate your warranty anyway. 🙁

Ebac will probably steer well clear of UKW. By that I mean they will not appreciate the online trade autopsy style criticism that these free speech forums allow. IMO such was the demise of ISE. The web was alive will negative vibes, an issue Ebac will do well to avoid. Just my opinion of course, and I am grateful for the opportunity to express it here. Long live UKW and I wish Ebac all the luck in the world !

To quote you “am thinking” it could be that the lead to the condenser NTC could be broken? 😉

Any further help needed I suggest you give us the machines full PNC number in order to look up whatever part you may need?

    Re: Hotpoint Washing Machines

I don’t believe there is a special tool or a part number for the plug. New wiring harness is probably the only answer. 🙁

What’s the Hotpoint part number? Many of us don’t shop at CDSL.

IIRC both the Normal & Intensive programmes do a pre soak cycle first with no heat. Whereas the Quickwash and Eco cycles bypass the pre soak and go straight into a heated main wash. Therefore I don’t think you have a fault there. 😀

We’ll all be shouting EBAC soon. A mad scramble to be agents/stockists. 😉
