Extending the flexible drain hose on a modern electronic controlled machine is a definite no no. The joint where the two hoses connect inevitably mean that the flow rate is reduced, hence the ‘time out’ F05 error. Extending the plastic waste pipe closer to the machine or moving the machine closer to the waste pipe will solve your problem.
Alternatively fit an extra length drain hose direct from machine to the drain WITHOUT at joints and restrictions may also solve the F05 nuisance error warning, maybe?

I would go for the Siemens WM14E462GB at £499 with free 5 year guarantee. A much better choice in the long run. 😉

If you remove the 2 torx screws that attach top spray pipe to sump you can see the cam. If that is all clear then chances are the impeller is clogged with detritus. I use a torch and dentist mirror to peek inside the circl pump from the sump. Then use a hooked wire to poke out any rubbish from the impellor.

Could be..!

There has to be something stuck between the filter and the pump. Where does the drain hose terminate? If it’s coupled to the sink there could be a blockage there too.

It does have a sealed drum, takes hours to wash but overall an OK machine I suppose. Costly to fix once the guarantee runs out and no easy DIY solutions either. Don’t even think of buying Samsung junk.

Oh dear, could be a relay fault on the control module. 🙁

Did you check to see if the water point diverter valve is stuck in the closed position?

And so, using the usual cliché ….’at the end of the day’…does it really matter? It could be the guy is operating from a leaky garden shed in Bromsgrove and is stuck with 4000 Dyson clutches he ordered in error in 2012. Good luck to him, move on!

It’s probably a model that has a diverter as part of the heater unit. And so the heater will need replacing. What is the model number (ENr no) anyway?

ParticipantRe: Online Pricing
One explanation, they’ve had it in stock for donkeys years and bought it at donkeys years ago prices. Another, they buy bankrupt stock.

Indeed so.

Ah, tough one that. Many makes have similar weaknesses and coupled with many users ignoring putting salt in and thinking 3 in 1 tablets will do, end up with early breakdowns. I was pro- Siemens for decades, not any more.
But the good news is it can be fixed, but then you may have to reconsider getting local help.

As I said in my post over a month ago, the pumps resistance level should read 80ohms using your multimeter. Disconnect the wire to it then check the coils resistance.
You have to be aware that other factors can lead to these somewhat random error codes. And replacing the pump may not necessarily cure the fault. A little knowledge can be a costly and time consuming and very often can get you nowhere. We will help where we can of course to avoid you stumping up 60 quid but ultimately calling in a local expert could be your cheapest option short of getting the local authority to dispose of this somewhat fault prone gadget.

Blocked black rubber sump hose.

My first and only thought would be that if there was a short in the plug then it must have blown the PCB to smittereens? It’s a moulded plug with a kettle lead direct to the PCB so I’m surprised even the tap light still works!
