    The problem will not be with the timer. The timer is controlled by several components that ‘advance’ the timer once their function is completed ( i.e. Water level microswitch on filling. Thermostat on reaching temperature etc).

    A new stretch belt (9 rib) is must. But these dryers are built much like an old biscuit tin and unless the frame is aligned it will grind, rumble and rattle like a Centurian tank on an assault course during war games!

    You might want to check out the door springs.(The clue is in the fact your customer says the door appears heavier than before). Also the nylon door pivot bearings are prone to wear which will misalign the door. Finally, decor door panel and/or levelling issues will all create those symptoms.
