Steel Putty from places like Halfords can be a solution. Both sides will need the application though to ensure a lasting seal.

There are many hoops to jump through and hurdles to clear if you plan starting out self employed. Working for a major manufacturer will give good grounding as to what lies ahead for you in the trade. I’m walking away from it having spent 50 years in the business. I can see little long term prospects for anyone these days, those days are gone. I can think of a dozen better trades to take up all of which are hands on with great prospects, though location could be an issue for you.

If you move to Oz then I would think the local Miele agent could reprogram it for you. 💡

To elaborate, I may offer a £45 diagnostics to a customer a few doors from…….But then I may offer the same service……………….In an alternative situation, I may offer diagnostics at £45 and callout of £0 ………….
George, the ruling by the CAP is clear enough and I fear you may fall foul of their ruling if you’re not careful. The specific use of the advertising phrase “No Call Out Charge” is the only issue here. And as long as your various “offers” to your customers don’t infer that phrase you will be fine. Therefore there would be no reason for you to disagree with their ruling.

The mains voltage of the country. Climate of the country. Some countries like Australia have cold water detergent cycles.

In all seriousness Lee, that is a neat system. Could you please tell us the approximate cost of such a unit?
