    Re: Tumble Dryer Energy Rating

If you live alone then a compact is fine. For double sheets and plenty of towels, jeans etc then only a full size will suffice.

NEVER extend a vent hose, the shorter the better. And go for the higher energy rating as they dry quicker especially using a โ€˜timed dryโ€™ cycle. These auto sensor dryers arenโ€™t all they are cracked up to be. Often run for hours (2 hrs typical for a 7kg load of towels) after which time often as not are still not cupboard dry.

Full size White Knight vented, yes indeed, good choice.

The plastic base is flooded. Can be temporarily overcome by un-plugging power and slowly tipping backwards (only backwards mind) until the water in the base floods out onto the floor. Have towels ready to catch the water!

That will clear the problem but clearly your aged machine wants for a good service and closer inspection for potential internal leaks.

You will need to remove the outer door panel in order to remove and closely inspect the control unit PCB. Check for blown triacs or domed capacitors or indeed any dry joints or burnt tracks.

Re: Free Standing Washing Machine Buying Advice

Miele, Miele or Miele the 3 options.

Avoid Wi-fi connectivity like the plague (Lots of issues there). Leaving machine on pause is NEVER a good thing or a facility adopted by the manufacturers. Operating a machine unattended a definite no no.

Enjoy your Miele and operate is as per their instruction manual. Many models come with a 10 yr guarantee IF you use it correctly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: Bosch WVG30461GB won’t lock and start

Itโ€™s apparent here from reading this tale that the problem is not associated with the electronic circuit boards. More often than not is an earth leak on the dryer element or wash element (as has been mentioned). Using an insulation tester (aka Megger) on each element would be the ideal tool to check for faults there.

The fact that when you override the interlock and it operates normally is a big clue I reckon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Re: Double or single oven?

Double oven your best option. The smaller oven incorporates a grill, an essential tool if you want to use both oven and grill at the same time. You canโ€™t do that with a single oven ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: AEG electric oven goes off after 15/20mins

The ‘overheat protection thermostat’ (as AEG refer to it) is likely attached on the top adjacent the cooling fan. Usually constructed of metal and white porcelain with one wire in, one out.

One question for you : Does the cooling fan work when the oven is on?

Check the thermal cutout (aka TOC). Isolate power before pulling out and removing panels :zap:
