ParticipantRe: Time for a Cup of Coffee and Read
I think I’ve read this article some years back (3 or 4 maybe?). Sadly it’s not dated or who wrote it but I seem to recall Graham Dixon being involved back then.
Nothing changes nor will it? 🙁

I’m curious to know why you posted this in the washing machine section?
However, Usually with most built in ovens you will need to pull the unit out then take the top cover off to access the controls.

OK got to 10 minutes of this stuff and the moment the guy took apart a cardboard shoebox to wedge bits of cardboard between the worktop and a brand new washer-dryer in order to cure a problem with vibration I had heard enough. I’m sure the next excruciating 18 minutes of this audio track has more crank cures and dodgy fixes, boring, boring.

So called skin allergies were extremely rare instances years ago when washing machines filled with water, water you could see when it washed. These days clothes seem to wash in a mixture of soap bubbles and yuck from the previous wash cycles. Even during the rinse cycles those bubbles seem never to disappear. So our kids put on clothing that hasn’t truly been washed and certainly not rinsed. Kids sweat and nasty skin rashes and itching suddenly becomes commonplace.
Folks resort to all kinds of short term cures, the first of which is switching from a bio to a non-bio detergent……..WRONG! The vital ingredient in washing any garment at temperatures below 60 degs is enzymes. Without them all manner of problems result especially so if you don’t set the machine on the correct program for the fabric, overdose on detergent, turn the temperature down more or worse still use a quick wash cycle.
Bleach and enzymes wash the clothes and ensure the machine stays clean, clear and odour free for the most part. You have to do your bit in sticking to the manufacturers operating instructions, sort your fabrics out and use good quality detergent.
As for skin allergies, ask your doctor to arrange for a ‘patch test’ at your local hospitals dermatology department if you ever suspect an allergic reaction to bleach based/biological detergent. Or another brilliant cure all to sensitive skin is moisturiser. Got an itch?….slap on some moisturiser.
Finally, your machine sounds so bad that only taking it apart and jet washing the inner drum and tub will cure. But based on current operating trends will return (Probably around 6 months time?) 🙁

No, only buy the genuine NEW replacement as that comes as a kit including the new style fixing bolts. The plastic pin that attaches the shocker to the drum has to be knocked out, holed redriled and new bolt inserted. Kit includes full instuction leaflet by the way.
Peace be upon your washdays. 😉

If the reviews on Facebook and Trustpilot are anything to go by then caution might be advisable. 😉

WD40 often cures all though a little light grease on the bolts wont harm. Also check carefully that the welds on the cabinet base are not cracked.

This might help……(to exit turn power off, then on, then off again)

Well the symptoms you describe do indicate a faulty thermcouple. Holding the control knob in for more than 15 seconds should be more than enough for the unit to operate. You’ve held it for 60 seconds must surely mean it is faulty.

Excellent photo clearly shows the indicator dial is NOT located in the slots of the red band. In fact they are shown to be almost 180degs out. The two indicator lugs (one large, one small) should slot into the corresponding slots on the red dial. In your photo the large lug is shown in the 10 to position the smaller in the 20 past. Whereas with the red plastic the opposite is shown.. 😉
