Below is the part I am referring to. It links the timer knob with the cam and ensures the program dial is in the correct position. Its part number is 1246079014 😀

A great sense of humour is essential if you work for Hotpoint, you couldn’t stick the job otherwise. Those that leave often change career and become traffic wardens.

The program indicator is incorrectly located as I’ve mentioned previously. They usually break so unless that is sorted your machine’s programmes will always be out of sync.

Oh Andy, not worth ignoring. I’ve got several spare stickers so I’ll send you a couple. Those jobsworths patrolling the streets down your way will get ya, oh yes they will. Especially as many are Sun readers and are keen to prove Trevor in Kent isn’t alone. 😈

Display modules aren’t interchangeable as far as I am aware. It sounds to me as though possibly you’ve got a bunch of scrap Bosch’s and you’re trying to make one good one out of four bad ones? :rotfl:

Take a close look at that cam (that operates the arm) to make sure nothing is broken within. All 3 units fit as one, that cam, the program indicator disc and the push in pull out knob. Most commonly the indicator disc breaks as that is the weakest link of them all.

Your dryer is subject to Hotpoint’s Safety Recall. Have you registered your appliance on their website?

Me too, the exception being when Reading FC aren’t playing on a Saturday (aren’t we doing well right now 😀 ) or when the golf course is closed.

Can’t rule it out at this point but I have to ask if you saw it working earlier? If so then obviously it’s a connection issue so I’m sure you checked that already. So maybe the pump blew both out? Odd but hey, it’s a Bosch! 😉

I guess because of the display issue you weren’t able to configure the module?

Dang you’ve sussed me. Yep I’m Bosch through and through. Old habits as they say 😀

    Daewoo £547

    Now play spot the difference
What features does the Bosch have that the Daewoo doesn’t

It looks similar I’ll grant you that (but fridges all look the same don’t they?) but the Bosch has larger capacity AND clad in stainless steel. Nice try though. A Bosch is Bosch guys, accept or move on with this :rolls:

I can only think some folks throw the old ones and the door boot away before ordering new? Either that or they are fractionally smaller in diameter and thus tighter fitting. But they are tough bu&&ers to fit anyway as the springs are so strong.

    Simon46 wrote:Are they needed?

I’d keep hold of a couple of pairs just in case otherwise into the metal recyling bin with them. 😉

Bosch do not make all that they sell and to say otherwise is false.

Bosch, part of the mighty Siemens group, make their own and rebrand nothing. Their days of buying in ‘under license’ are long gone. The Crosslee dryers you referred to confined to history. So too Balay when they bought their plant.

I very much doubt the fridge freezer theory though all the worlds fridges have some other brand of compressor in them anyway. Much like a BMW can’t operate without Bosch components inside.

Nope, I believe Bosch only make Bosch when it comes to today’s worldwide white goods market.

It’s amazing what you can spot on the web isn’t it. But a great deal of the stuff isn’t necessarily updated. In the case of your Asko they are no longer produced by their new owners Gorenje in Slovenia. So I should hazard a guess that what you are seeing is old stock if in stock at all?

I’d stick with searching for your 2nd hand, splittable tub machines. 😉
