Re: Cannon electric oven heating erratically

The most logical explanation to my way of thinking is that the thermostat is at fault.

Main board? Scare tactics by the sound. :rolls:

Don seemed to think that perhaps you live on the Hebrides? That being the case then perhaps a trip to Stornaway to visit the local Euronics store might be a good solution. Buying on-line is fraught with risk whereas dealing with a local trade and seeing first hand what your buying is the way forward for you.

Re: WTA2000 3 Drum Rivets worn bracket

I didn’t look closely at your photos to be honest otherwise I would have realised the problem, sorry. But there is a solution in the form of BKT64, a pattern bearing unit that fits in circumstances when the drum spider support rivets give way. Not shown in the spares store on this website sadly but I enclose a link to another, though the part (if still available?) is a bit on the pricey side. πŸ˜•

    Re: Nef oven tripping

It is not possible or necessary to use any material substance to seal an oven. Simply avoid using steam cleaners.

Now if steaming vegetables causes an issue wthe the oven tripping the MCB then I seriously advise the oven needs checking with an insulation tester, the source of the earth leak located and replaced.

At this point you may best seek the help of a local repairer.

Yes Mike as Kai says they do come with instructions. Very complex, specific instructions they are too and not a job to do last thing on a Friday that’s for sure.

I hope for your sake the machine really needs the module?

And I do have the coding instructions if you get stuck.

    Re: bosch door handle

Here’s another trick you can use. Thin wire poked down vertically between the door and front panel (between the door glass and the catch). Grab the other end of the wire as it emerges below the door and pull both ends to the right, unhooking the striker. Probably quicker and a lot less fiddly that that butter knife ❓

    Re: bosch door handle

    You mentioned it……”power failure”.

Possibly in the showroom (though that might put potential purchasers off). And on a new install when you want to get the fill hose and instruction leaflet out of the drum, there is that option (though I’d sooner plug it in first)

Re: Red bit of pipe on the heat exchanger (Bosch)

That red section of the heat exchanger is called the ‘free flow line’.
It’s an air gap in the water line that’s not only a legal requirement in Germany but also throughout Europe and even here in the UK. All water companies insist on it.

I enclose a full explanation as to what it does below : –

    Re: bosch door handle

Usually the customer breaks the door handle then yanks at the emergency release lever and either breaks that too or it becomes dislodged. As its a electro magnetic interlock you could have (with the front panel detached) select a program and the interlock will disengage (with a click) sufficient to get a screwdriver in to poke the broken door striker out! Fiddly but effective. πŸ™‚

    Re: Nef oven tripping

I think you can rule out the elements as if they were an issue they would trip out every time you use the oven. More likely the issue is condensation getting into the two light fittings.

Steam cleaners (like KΓ€rcher) are a major pain at causing faults with oven and hobs. The water v’s electrics scenario every time. We in the trade love folks using them because inevitably they cause problems and we then have to rectify. πŸ˜‰

Re: Hoover VH W854 D washer dryer flashing door lock

Many in the trade have come across this problem and odd though it may appear (apparently) changing the actual door cures the fault.

Yes, me neither :rolls: I’m just quoting what I’ve read.
But you’d best try a new Interlock first as they are far cheaper. πŸ’‘

……and the motor plug is definately OK is it? Double checked continuity between it and the control module?
