Is this not the pattern brushes problem?

I never had to take the front off to see if the plug was disconnected, i could get it fron the top. Shine a torch down and have a look.

ParticipantIf there is enough grease build up and heat the grease vapourises and can ignite.

I have gone to a few dead Bosch machines to find the plug on the interlock disconnect.

ParticipantRe: Hoover CNA 145 Washer
I had this exact fault with a CM2 machine. She couldn’t select short wash and the other buttons didn’t work either. I found the ribbon type cable from the panel had been rubbing off something and eventually worn through the cable. I’d take out the cable and check it. You need to look thoroughly as the wires are small.

The pattern ones were causing arcing, luckily though 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time pattern ones will work ok.

ParticipantI went to look at a Hotpoint WMA washing machine that was tripping the switch due to a faulty element. Apparently an electrician looked at it before me. The woman was going on about how much washing she had to do so the electrician decides to disconnect the earth in the machine so she could carry on with her washing until i got to look at it!!

ParticipantI had a similiar problem with the Siemens brother. I did a service on one and replaced the brushes( old ones not quite gone). They weren’t ori brushes. The timer went from 11 mins ( i think) down to 2 mins and the spin would stop. Put in the old brushes and it worked ok. When the brushes do go i’m going to try original ones and see what happens.

ParticipantIt seems like the machine thinks there is water in it. The pressure switch would be the first thing i’d be checking.

True, doesn’t look good when you’re cursing and hitting the side of the appliance with a hammer in frustration 😆

put your foot in the belt and pull (bullworker style)with your hands to stretch the belt a bit
Even though it does make it easier be careful not to do too much force or the belt will snap like what happened me a few months back 😳
I use the large screwdriver method.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool washing Machine Mod AWO3761/S
Sure it’s not a faulty door lock? I’m nearly sure i called to one with the same problem but the fault wasn’t intermittent the light kept flashing. Replaced lock and all was fine.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint/Creda TD bearing pads
I went to replace a shaft on one, an early CTD 00. It definately had 5 pads but the kit only had 4 so i left the top one as it was. Also the early CTD 00’s had the square back bronze bearing rather than the teardrop shape one.

ParticipantYeah do a lot of these and to be fair this is only the second time this has happened and both on the same model machine with a countdown timer. I guess Bosch is the best place for the genuine ones?
