ParticipantRe: Hotpoint CTD 80
Oh this was a case the customer sticks the head in :rolls: , when i took the pump out he cleaned and dried out the fluff and water and probably threw away the rubber impeller, even so does it mean a new pump anyway if it comes off?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint CTD 80
Would you believe i got a call to a CTD 00 with the same symptoms today. Empty light on. This machine was built around May 2007. The pump for some reason isn’t pumping up the water even though it’s “working”. Looking at it when working you can see it’s not stable and vibrating. It seems to be a different pump from the earlier ones, are these giving problems? To me it looks like a cheaper pump.

Thanks for all the replies lads. Went to it this morning and found the tray where the pump sits full of fluff, cleaned it out and it now pumps the water up to the top 😆 , is it normal for the rollers on the front to be noisy on these machines, it’s making a fair racket :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD420
I have seen valves breakdown after a few seconds and then work again after a rest but as this is a WD i doubt it would be that simple 😮

ParticipantRe: Overheating AL 120 Hoover washing machine
Well this what greeted me when i took the lid of today. She had switched the washing machine on before going to bed and when she got up this morning the trip switch was down. They were lucky and have 5 young kids. As you can see the module went on fire, what could have caused this? Shorted motor, bad connection?

ParticipantFitted another set yesterday. They fitted perfectly without having to file them and also silent on the spin.

ParticipantInteresting. My next door neighbour has a WF type machine( didn’t look at the mod number) but has a didital display and tonight it was stuck on spin with a minute showing. I reset it and it worked ok. It happened once a few months ago also and when i reset it was ok until now.
Iadom, can you send me some of that info please? email iguana30ie@hotmail.com
