There is a special little tool that has 2 lugs on it that seat inside the inner ring which then unscrews…..HOWEVER , its not the sturdiest of things so best not attempted without the special spanner !!!

If the dispenser drawer doesn’t work…..is the rinse aid being dispensed in the main wash rather than the end of the rinse cycle ?

if you take the lid off and look to the right rear , you will see the black hose leading to the top of the water container. The nozzle of this hose where it sits above the container is prone to blocking up so will prob need cleaning out .

They’re not too expensive (maybe £13:00 odd ?) and i have had one that i thought i’d cleaned up but failed again in very quick time. Its easiest and best to replace it .

There is a small water flow meter connected inline with the cold water inlet hose. It is a small white circular object in the back left bottom orner underneath the water matrix. This will have prob failed.

    Part No: 424099 impellor jug

This flow meter sends informatio back to the control module and tells the machine how quickly its filling. When it fails , the machine has no idea on water levels so just keeps filling. The red float is the ‘overfill’ safety ystem hence its being triggered by the high water level.

replace the flow meter and all should be well.

POWER OFF AT ALL TIMES WHEN WORKING ON THE MACHINE

If you think there’s going to be grief , as well as pointing things out to the customer , take a couple of snaps with a digital camera or phone before starting the job too . Its a good reference point

Its more than likely to be the appliance running with low water levels and therefore its not heating . The noise of the pump you can hear will probably be the circulation motor running with no water.

Read through the thread CJA has posted and that should point you in the right direction .

Just to let you know that your Technik dishwasher is in fact a Siemens machine . The SE6TIE 1GB
number is the Siemens model number and you could check the BSH appliance care website for the correct part number .

Yes Simon , it will be. There are 2 ways of doing it really. One is lots of hot water syringed into the evaporator to melt the ice……the much much easier way is to let it defrost for 24/48hrs

I’d also give a visual check on the underneath of selector switch to have a look for any signs of burnt contacts .

When you say the filter is clear , are you talking about the door filter ? If you have checked it , i’d be making sure the condensor box isn’t all bunged up and that the sensor in the air channel below the door filter isn’t all clogged up either .
