Could it have received a bump or shock at any point during the move? If so, one of the edge connectors on the PCB may have come adrift. Plug out before inspecting inside.

Re: Yet another gripe at connect.

It is still cost effective for me to order from Connect in many cases because I have a special deal on minimum order for free delivery. If I have time I like to compare overall order costs though and try to order from Masterpart or Homespares as much as I can. I still prefer Connect to Parts Center, who are my “last resort” supplier.

    Re: Advice to hotpoint customers

I suppose it depends on how much you are charging your customers. I very rarely do jobs where my bill comes to over £99 since the customer usually declines to go ahead. I can often offer secondhand motors, timers etc for the older machines. I have sometimes suggested to customers that they get Hotpont to do a repair but a lot of them prefer me as I generally get the repair completed quicker than Hotpoint.

I think they told us about this by means of a message on the website. I don’t know what the message said as it expired before I got round to reading it :rolls: I’m tempted to just not pay them until they chase me but the trouble is they are liable to just withhold future orders 😡

It is easy enough to check Hotpoint heater continuity now they are on the back. You could also check/change the relay, especially if you hang on to one or two scrap modules.

It’s a shame you could not fix it. Tomorrow I will be putting new bearings in a Hotpoint 95130. It was one of the first machines I worked on when I started in 1998 and still going strong 😀

I’ve had an Ariston version of the same model that leaked from the soap dispenser but on spin, not fill, as the filter was choked.

Yes, it has side by side ovens. I don’t think it would be designed so you can only have one on at a time.

It does look like there are 2 types listed, probably both wrong 🙁 There is a straight one: C00094715 and a bent one: C00088399. Neither of these look like they have an NTC. If it has the Hotpoint type tub I would try the late Hotpoint heater, C00112578.

Thanks. Looks like it needs it’s own supply from the consumer unit then. Customer is already complaining about the kitchen fitters from hell who installed his new units. Now I have to give him the news that he will have an expensive wiring job required 😉

I can’t cure it with a magic wand I don’t have. I don’t have the answers. It does wind me up.

I tried two things around which a whole load of things revolve around the two basic ideas which are essentially UKW and then, after that was off the ground, ISE. Adding all the stuff like insurances etc. was all designed to try to let you combat this sort of thing.

With UKW it’s also a sorta mission to make this sort of thing as public as possible using the other vehicles as a solution.

I wish I could do more to help but, as I said, I don’t have a magic wand. 🙁

    K.
I don’t think anyone is expecting you to solve these issues but the forum is a useful place for members to get their frustrations aired. Do you ever talk to representatives of the major manufacturers to get their point of view? It would be good if some of them contributed on this site.

The direction change relay is bound to be on the main module. I suggest you send the board back to QER. I also suggest you read this thread:
