That’s the part you need, yes. If you take the right hand side of the cabinet off then the plastic cover that fits over the top half of the fan you will be able to inspect the other parts for damage.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA61S door frame.

There certainly were at least 2 different shapes of door used so perhaps the machine does not have it’s original door. Have a look at part No. 1603599. This has a flat at the hinge side but is rounded at the handle side. It is white but I don’t think that should matter as none of it is visible with the door shut.

    Re: Indesco Brushes

Martin, do you really think Qualtex or any of the other pattern brush suppliers are bothered about providing different grades of carbon for different makes of motor? The fact that the same metal holders fit into a range of different plastic casings indicates to me that that the manufacturers are doing on a large scale much the same as I do on a small scale. The Bosch machines you mention are mostly getting quite elderly now so could well be judged BER if a new end housing is required but the soldered in carbons would be within most customers budget. The only complaints I’ve had with pattern brushes etc were some years ago on the Hotpoint GEC type motor. The plastic casings of the pattern brushes were melting, so I’ve only used genuine Hotpoint brushes on that motor since then.

Thanks for the replies. The longer one must be for machines with tensioners. I have now fitted a Hotpoint belt, 1860H6EL and it seems plenty tight enough so perhaps the one listed is wrong.

Indeed, as it happens I have ordered a set of 5409 and a set of 5416 this morning but at £7.40 a set they are rather expensive (I pay £6.00 for the CBN9208).

    Re: Bearing Seal -Ariston AD10UK

It is usually possible to get the bearing (or at least part of it) out with the seal when drifting out the bearing. If the bearing has broken up it might damage the seal as it comes out. That is probably just a chance you will have to take but you could make up a puller using nuts, a bolt and big washers. You need 2 big penny washers that are a loose fit on the bolt so they can be slid apart eccentrically into the recess in the seal. When in place you can tighten the nut and pull on the bolt. If you use threaded bar instead of a bolt you may then be able to refine the technique using a very big socket or similar cylindrical object. You place this over the threaded bar, add an extra nut and tighten this to pull the seal into socket cavity. The seal is not glued in, only held by the interference fit.

Re: Baumatic BTWM5 Trips electrics, now unable to set progra

If there’s a hole in the heater it might only trip when there’s water in the drum. You could check this by manually filling. You need to trace the cause of failure before changing the board.

Has he cleaned out the pressure vessel at the other end of the pressure switch pipe? It might be full of soap residue.

Re: Belling fan oven keeps cutting out

Does sound like a problem with the switch or it’s connections. With power off you need to get the oven out and remove panels so you can see the wiring. Inspect the switch for burnt wires, contacts etc.

What happens if only the top oven is used? A model number would be useful to see if there are any thermal overload cutouts for you to check.
