It will be drum bearing failure but definitely worth getting it fixed. Do it sooner rather than later or there will be more damage to other parts of the machine.

ParticipantRe: Smart Card reader – you don’t need it !
Tony,
Can you do anything like that with Hoover / Candy modules? As I understand it, they have a few generic boards which are programmed for a particular model. If I had a good board from a scrap machine could it be re-programmed to suit a different model?Phidom
ParticipantRe: Whats the General Consensus of this
I suppose anyone with a shop will have to be over the threshold just to break even but if you only do repairs and work on your own it should be easy enough to avoid the VAT monster. It’s not really a fair system though because tradesmen in London and other big cities have to charge more to recover parking costs etc and it pushes up their turnover figure. In 10 years of trading I have yet to pay for parking when on a job.

You might do better to post this in the Australasia forum.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA11 – I just cant pin this down??
The only way to be sure of the tacho wiring continuity is to trace the wires and do a resistance check at the module end of the harness. I don’t like the push in wiring for motor plugs they use on Hotpoints and I have known wires to come loose.

Check that your hot and cold taps to the machine are turned on and that the hoses are not crushed. Make a note of any sequence of flashing lights and report back.

ParticipantRe: the lovely widl126
Someone on another forum had this fault code and it turned out to be a burnt out water solenoid.

ParticipantRe: Indesit door seal????
Hopefully you will find the customer has got the wrong end of the stick and it doesn’t have this hose. I must admit, my advice was based on knowing the earlier type seal doesn’t have the recovery hose 😳

ParticipantRe: Hoover Tumble Dryer latch receiver
I’ve probably got a secondhand one but I can’t find any photos of the part so would be unable to identify the correct one.

You should be able to find an engineer who can do a cost effective repair using the repairs@ facility on this site.

ParticipantRe: Hoover Tumble Dryer latch receiver
The latch receiver is just a plastic plate that screws on the outside of the cabinet, are you sure that’s the part you mean?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FLA1201W
I also struggle with that job. Don’t tell the others but I have been known to remove the whole drum assembly from to cabinet to give better access for changing the door seal. :hide:
