Open the door and
3 or 4 inches from the hinge towards the top of the door you should have a screw when removed will allow the door to slide off the hinge arm.Jim.

It may have blown a track on the pub,which you may be able to bridge out by soldering wire across it.A visual inspection will show it up

Could someone tell me if its just a case of isolating the oven, sliding the oven out of its housing cabinet and taking a side off, remove and then replace the switch.

There could be a problem with the timer.You will need to check the continuity across the terminals ,as this will give the same symptoms you describe.
