    I believe that Swan as a trademark is held by Littlewoods as the ones I do come from NESN

    I really thought it would be the complete motor and too expensive but will go for the kit and bearing now so thanks in order of appearance to…………….

    Yeah,
    by giving her an Indesit they are on to a winner with guaranteed repeat business from Janet when this thing is BER in a short while ‘cos when it is her warranty will end 😉

    Mike,
    Bosch seem to list only the motor complete with the face(ceramic??) included 489658.
    Or is the sealing kit, 183638 the above less the motor? I can’t make it out on the Bosch site.
    Jem, if this works out it looks like a good fix and I will do that for sure.

    Thanks Mike,
    The motor is covered in the usual salts and scum and is noisy so a motor required and I knew about Martins post but never had the need to dismantle a Bosch as yet.

    Thanks lads,
    Of course this is stuck in a tiny utility room so to get the bu**er out, remove a cupboard, and disconnect so makes testing a bit difficult. Will do my best Thursday and report back if I get a result

    Luckily it is only individual letters so will try my steam gun and the hair dryer but don’t trust myself with the Stanley scraper

    I wish I could put it down to that Jim but sadly when I compared the old and new it was definitely a larger diameter. 😕
    And suede mine too was from Connect. It’s good to know I’m not alone 😮
