ParticipantRe: wheres the work gone?
Mines been manic for 3 weeks, except today and booking into next week now, never been so busy, I could do with a rest.
And a nice £900 tax rebate too 😆robbra
ParticipantRe: Should have stayed in bed
Two jobs today
Built in Ariston dishwasher..had a new cycling pump but when I pulled it out wonderful kitchen fitters had squashed drain hose and it had been leaking for 8 years so had to order a new hose.
Second job…noisy Hotpoint WMA. Made up rear half and got old tub out to split. Bearings completely disintegrated, spider shaft knackered and the ally bearing housing had split in two and came away with the spider. Just a £20 call out…Same as Madmac, only noisy for a week :rolls:
Deaf bleeders so instead of £100 it has cost him £300 for a new machine + my £20. Couldn’t wait for a ISE so off to Currys.
Serves him right

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM52 motor exchange
Both the old and replacement motors have the tacho with the bar, just different tag numbers and spacing in the socket so it should be plain sailing

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM52 motor exchange
Thanks Jim,
They are both the old GEC type motors and the sockets are both in line flat and both in front of me now but not the machine. Will I still have to turn the connector though 180 or just rearrange the wires in the old connector block to line up with the tags in the new motor?
Thanks for the tech info too 🙂

ParticipantRe: How would you design a washing machine?
A casette seal with ceramic faces and then an induction motor and a proper pump, an enamel outer tub and use lots of water, computer programmer.
Think I have redesigned a Servis Quartz apart from the motor 😆
I did love themrobbra

ParticipantRe: Extravagant energy saving claims?
I’ve been brushing my tongue since my first girlfriend and that is too many years passed. 😳

ParticipantRe: Extravagant energy saving claims?
I have just been to a customer with the drying balls. Instructions say, one pink and one purple in each drying load.
I was doing the washer and stopped the dryer to check. I thought the rear bearing had gone and found these.
The purple is soft, like a tennis ball and the pink is rock hard.
We took them out and the clothes tumbled just the same without the clunking and came to the conclusion that all they achieved was to knock hell out of the clothes in the dryer.
Another con, just like the washballs.
Just a load of BA**S all round :rolls:

ParticipantRe: re Ignis Dishwasher ADL348 Wash Motor
I use an old toothbrush to clean them, not too hard though. 🙂

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Wash Pump
Another Askoll type lump of rubbish.
I used to like their stuff and got myself a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and 6th sense washer all about 3 years ago.
Freezer went wrong in 3 months and is now gone, dishwasher went last year and washer has noisy bearings and will be gone shortly. Only the fridge is any good.
£133.07 on connect to me but out of stock :rolls:
Cheaper than you Steve, can you believe it?

ParticipantRe: hotpoint wma52 motor
Got to the motor and seems he also had the screwdriver out and so field is very burnt. New motor on order :rolls:
