When you turn it back on dispense some water and check inside of the fridge to check the water tank is not leaking, as sometimes they can split when they freeze.

    Re: Norfrost Chest Freezer Help

As I posted it is low on refrigerant due to a slow leak or the compressor is worn not pumping correctly.

The pre cooling tank in the fridge behind the salad boxes will be frozen.

It is also most likely the fridge is frozen behind the rear panel.

The best option for you is to get someone to look after your food and turn off the fridge freezer leaving the doors open for 48 hours to allow it to fully defrost.

Is it ice or a white frost.

If it is ice then the drain N/R/V above the compressor may be stuck so the water cannot drain away.

If it is white frost then it is normally the heater or heater stat faulty.

It is rare to have a problem with the main PCB on an AEG.

    Re: Norfrost Chest Freezer Help

The fault you have described is the compressor is worn not pumping correctly or it has a leak and has lost the refrigerant.

This is not a DIY repair.

    Re: Norfrost Chest Freezer Help

Most chest freezers is a lid change.

If the seal is not split it should be okay.

wash the seal with a warm soapy cloth then warm the seal evenly with a hair dryer or a wallpaper steamer is better.

Close the lid with the seal still warm and leave it closed for an hour with the freezer turned on.

This will soften the seal and it should then seal again ok when it has cooled down.

If you pressed the top 2 buttons and held them in for a few seconds you have gone into the engineers setting Mode.

If it has not returned to the normal display the turn it off at the mains and leave it off for 15 mins.

When you turn it back on it should reset to the normal display.

That’s ok the pin 1 brown wire is the main live wire
The pin 2 is the compressor feed.
    Pin three is not used
    Pin 4 is the neutral
Pin 5 & 6 is the reed switch
On some models I have found the wires are different colours for the sensor but the wiring positions are the same on the PCB so just go by the PIN numbers.
    You just take 5 & 6 off and insulate then fit 7 to 5 & 8 to 6

Not the best place to keep the bags under the sink as bio degradable bags are now used in most shops so will fall apart if they get wet.

    Hi Dave

To change from the 8 pin module to the 6 pin details below.

    Working from left to right.
Left large brown wire pin 1
Right thin white wire pin 8

Remove wires 5 & 6 and insulate them this was the old sensor.

The thin brown wire pin seven goes to pin 5

The thin white wire pin 8 goes to pin 6 this is the reed switch wires.

    Hope this helps

The part should have came with the wiring mod.
I will look tonight when I have more time to see if I can find it in my paperwork.
You could try AWS to see if they can help.
But I would contact the part supplier you ordered it from.
I can remember 2 of the wires are for the sensor and are not required as the sensor is on the new PCB.

If it is Trade waste the councils normally charge even if you have a waste Carriers licence.

Tell them the door belongs to them and you do not have a waste carriers licence so you cannot legally take them.

I have never had a problem when I have told the customers this.

If they leave the door outside on the waste collection day the traveling scrap dealers normally pick them up.
