Re: Removing the decorative frame around a AEG microwave ?

Worked on one of these last year & if my memory serves me correctly there are 4 concealed screws in each corner, is there a beveled plastic surround? very hard to see if you don’t know what you are looking for, basically its screwed to kitchen cabinet & screw covers are put in place. Microvave sometimes will lift up & out without taking off frame, put both your hands inside on roof of appliance & lift up slightly & out towards you.

Jesus i hate dismantling these, they are so difficult to even put a belt on. Does the float swith cut off supply to heater as well? I have disconnected it & connected two thick cables together, i take it other one gives a signal only to led?

I just need to know where wires go onto float sw’ as it was burnt.

O.K thank you chaps, got it to reset, also got a bit of string used to tie beef stuck in pump, this got down because filter is damaged, seems to have two burns on it where it fell onto heater (obviously was left out by mistake some time). The machine did its cycle o.k but when it had finished pumping out there is a distinctive “glug glug” sound from machine. Also outlet pipes seems to vibrate. Is this syphoning? Outlet pipe is connected to trap under sink & there is a loop up above where it attaches! No blockages found in trap or pipe.

How do you reset the fault or does it come ok once the level is resumed?

Would need model num’ to determine exact part but these do most of them.

If its the same devise used in Dishwasher powder dispensers, these do tend to short circuit, Miele part will be dearer than non-gen

Some of them have a flap (non return) valve, these tend to stick shut if there is a lot of grease, just wondered have you checked this.

I’ve had a problem before with one of these that the motor would go off, on the subject of design & safety obviously any design engineer should forsee this scenario & have a cut-out in series with the heater so that it won’t overheat.
I’d say its looking like a motor fault & also a pressure switch change. obviously if there is no pressure from circulation pump heater should not come on. So look clogged pressure switch. Could be faulty timer but i think that would be third on my list..

    Re: beko skips heat cycle

Be very wary of this, most Beko washing machines do this, the timer will take in the setting when the customer makes a program’ selection, they will then advance to wash, this looks as if the timer is faulty but it is the way its designed. Take a look at the user manual & its mentioned there. If however it is not heating i’d be looking at ‘stat/thermistor problem, if the element checks out.

    Yeah,, its tired..

You’ll probably find its a bearing somewhere that has become dry or is failing, don’t try spraying with WD40 as this just evaporates, i find a spray grease (silicone type) to be better. Or replace the bearings..

    Re: miele w404 plus conditioner

They do tend to get blocked up, you sure you got the Model num’ correct, i think you may not have a W404 as this was made in 1960 & perhaps a W404 SB, which was made more recently, anyhows if its got a water diverter, the top of the soap drawer is Part num’ 5969591 priced at £72.32 + v.a.t. Check that motor is moving divertor, you can look down on drawer top & see legend, this should change when program is selected & you should see it moving & if it shows softener legend in window it means that water diverter is in proper position, there may however be a blockage preventing the water going into drawer below, the drawer can be accessed by removing 2 or 3 screws at front, lid should lift off, plastic type clips securing it at the sides i think. Best of luck.
