ParticipantRe: Pat test failed,What mega reading do i need
Iv had some training with PAT TESTING few years back now, can someone clear up that when checking for insulation 1 clip on earth and 1 clip on LIVE and NEUTRAL, am i correct in assuming SOME timers wont switch in the heater and motor until the machine is in use? thus giving an inaccurate reading?
i always run with RCD during test incase old style fuse box in property?

ParticipantRe: How to make searching easier. Pls read this and CONTRIBU
iv got a idea, why not have the make & type(wm/wd/dw/ff etc..) of appliance on drop down boxes for the poster to select and model number on a inputbox and then fault description on a textarea this way the search facility can be taylor made with the same 2 dropdown boxes and then input box for model number(exact search) plus the search programmed to search for keywords within textarea for fault description.?
this way searchers can bring up all posts that contain for example all HOTPOINT,WM,WM51 without fault description or specific search adding say the words interlock in textarea field.
few lines of html and php probably do the trick.

thanks for speedy reply iv been to see this not sure exactly what the single screw in centre mounting is??, it had what looked like 5.5mm or 5.0mm bolt either side holding element in place to cooker body, not the usual screws on connections side think it had earth tab in centre?? does that help distinguish between the two possibilities?
😕

ParticipantRe: hotpoint vtd00
hi Jim, thanks for lengthy reply with this in hand did return today to take another look, it has four raised pips on back as you describe so its a dbk heater not too sure about coil and strip differences the heater is coiled round but its not thin wire and within the coil is dull silver heat strip just to throw spanner in works, anyway to move forward iv only a none gen heater kit that is alternative to original C00112196, it has a 150degree one shot and 120degree cycling stat, the 150 has a orange spot on,
now on the old heater the stats are arranged with the one shot to the right hand side and the cycling to the left, iv even check backed wiring to make sure someone has not put them the wrong way round and checks out ok, one shot should be on right, there is no apparent colour on the old stats or temp ratings either
basically this seems different from your description of the orange stat to left, as am i right in thinking the orange stat is the one shot.??i telephone stockist and she opened original C00112196 box that are now instock theres no info leaflet in and no temp ratings either
this just seems to be getting more barmy by the minute for a simple stat change 😳
any futher help jim very much appreciated what i could do with is
each temp rating of original stats and their positon according to temp as that would just make it plain simple as my pattern set of stats have this..thanks jim,

1.get BT business land line.

3. opt for BT mobile telephone(about £50 month thats with a blackberry and about 500 free min plus unlimited text and internet)
4.bingo. all calls diverted to BT mobile telephone from BT landline are now:
