ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Awz7913 condenser dryer
only an educated guess darren as no one has chipped with seing the fault on that model?
does it dry ok on manual timer? or take longer on manual? just make sure no blockage present or part blockage in condenser pan.
apart from that and i recon its prob not gona be above obvious got to be the sensor if it works ok on left hand side of selection dial manual drying times?
what im getting at is (someone might clarify) if it works ok on manual doesent this mean everything accept the sensor and poss module are ok meaning the sensor gone out of calibration probably?
sensor is about £4 an ntc is about £10 for that model

ParticipantRe: repair and protect coming up on edinburgh local maps ?
iv taken a look and something seems quiet fishy here, the only way they can ligit be on local maps if they have local offices ie.quick fit, national but local, the way iv seen nationals get around it is using correspond mail offices, from what i can gather google maps does not like this either, what seems strange here is there address is vaig just listing a city which is not what google local listings are about, you can click on edit business details to the right hand side an ammend details as google regard all listings are there property listing an not owned by a business, ie anyone can ammend them but first with approval by google rep, norm 48 hours turn-around.

ParticipantRe: Removing scratches from stainless steel splashback help
i scratched an oven door not long back and it was a noticeable scratch, drastic measure i used t-cut but very light rubbing and not for long, the idea is to remove a bit of top layer but theirs a fine line here, keep wiping off and checking then back to light rubbing and use a little at a time, once finished it looked as good as new.

I remember needing a reset to a Bosch when changed brushes sometimes needs a few attempts to get it to reset so stick with it, seems strange though with only mechanical fault? Tried simulating the pecker action with insulated screwdriver?

ParticipantRe: Safety testing. Do you think this is over the top?
yes i agree it comes down to the amount of work, british gas an alike might think their being clever by giving their engineers a safety list and equipment as long as your arm to cover themselves against liability when in fact their quiet happy to throw 14 jobs on some days to engineers covering a large area, i wonder what would happen if somebody were seriously injured or worse doesent corperate manslaughter apply here? you cant throw every check in the book in one arm then throw a pile of work in the other? yes the above list is a little over the top but an inspection must be done that complies with iee code of practice, end of fullstop.

ParticipantRe: Nice little earner??
i run by business in manchester but sometimes cover stockport i think iv seen this advert before, it just plain gets met annoyed when this happens just breeds mistrust from public also, going off topic a bit iv started charging a fixed rate fee with ok results around £80 mark, why? some jobs take 20-30 mins so take 1 and half hours, customers seem happy to pay 80quid for small job as they know whats going to be charged before arrival. no callout charge no ber charge, some of my patch is beko, indesit, cheap and cheerful machines and some built in, not sure if im doing the right thing but its working in a diffult market at the moment as work seem to drop off about 9 months back( i even had the phones checked by bt!) and after changing my rates im back out on road now working.
