Maytag are owned by Whirlpool and are currently experiencing -electrical falts with the start relays,
    http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0309/6 … =newsstory
The part causing the trouble probably isnt made by Whirlpool/maytag just bought in as part of the compressor.
In the end the assemblers of appliances are buying in components and manufacturing possibly only the cabinet parts, items like compressors, fan motors, thermostats, evaporators are very rarly made in house by the manufactures so you will often find the same make of compressor or fan motor on different makers machines.
Perhaps too much choice, choose the appliance you like and if it’s at a compettaive price go for it, there is then a certain element of finger crossing as far as trouble free operation goes.

Is the compressor running?it’s the black dome type device at the rear of the machine.
listen to see if you can hear it and see how hot it is after a few hours running.
Is the motor making any clicking or buzzing noises as opposed to the normal humming etc ?

Remids me of when with Electrolux circa1980 and a pin in the gas safety valve was sticking, a couple of caravans went up and we were hauled in for about 4 weekends changing all stock in the country and chasing around changing the ones already sold.
Don’t think it made the press but would be a different story now.

You will need a mega/insulation meter to establish which one it is unless there is a clear distortion or burn mark, even then still an element (scuse the punn) of risk.

Father says to son ,very sorry son but your mums lost her job today and what with our £100,000 mortgage we are’nt going to be able to afford that bike you wanted for your birthday, the boy was very upset but put on a brave face to hide his disappointment.
When the father wakes up in the morning he looks out of the bedroom to see the son about to open the front door with a suit case packed, what are you doing?the father asks,I;m leaving home says the boy, why?asks Dad.
Well said the boy I woke up in the night and I heard you say to Mum that you were pulling out, wait, Mum said, I’m coming too,so there’s no way I am staying here on my own with a £100,000 mortgage and no bike.

No Comprehende ? Whilst checking the heater tube noticed the fill hose has an outer transparent cover with a normal looking fill hose encased inside,it says in the user manual that if the hose leaks it turns a bright red,the hose inside the outer transparent cover is redish so I looked for any sign of leaks current or past but can’t find any so am not sure what colour these hoses start of as.
On suppliers lists thet retail at around £22 so wantyed to check first before ordering if not necessary. 😕

Re: Samsung R21 – plate between fridge and freezer is red ho

The refrigerant leaves the compressor at approx 55 centigrade depending on ambient temp and also the condenser underneath (black radiator)being dust free and the condenser fan working correctly,it loses heat via the cabinet and the condenser, either of the last two could cause the refigerant temp to go higher.
Because they have a fan underneath they draw in dust and especially animal hair which will block condensers over a period of 12 months or so.
