    Yep that’s the ones!
    I did actually look at those but being the do-nut i am i didnt even notice that the carbons came out of the brass holder on the ones i had.

    If its a shaded pole type motor on the fan it can only run in one direction even if you reverse the connections.

    Just out of curiosity, do the numbers on the triac shown relate to its “type/value”? As on occasions when ive had a board with a blown triac ive thought about replacing it with one from an old board but although they look identical, the numbers dont match. Does anyone replace these triacs and if so where do you get them from?

    I had the same problem on one of these where the cust had pushed so hard on the button that the board had fallen into the facia. Spent ages trying to get idividual light lenses to stay in place while fitting the board back onto its very flimsy, crap, badly designed mounting. Ended up glueing the lenses in and when all back together, the whole board still moved when you pressed the buttons. Rubbish!

    After getting a couple of call backs on these in the past, i now smear some silicone around the o rings to make a good seal.
