ParticipantRe: Servis M6802W and large capacity washers
i have always wondered why people ask an experts opinion then completely ignore any advice given, i remember getting a phone call from an elderly gentlemanasking my opinion on a beko washing machine, i told him i would not take it as a gift, and really told him to buy any other machine if price was his only motivation.
i didnt even give him my hoover speech he would not have spent that much.
14 months later i got a phone call from him “that beko wahing machine you recommended has broken down there is a burning smell”.
i went round took the back off the motor had been on fire.
why ask if you dont act on information receieved.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Servis M6802W and large capacity washers
here we go again are you guys ready, then i will begin there are hoover washing machines available in 6kg, 7kg and 8kg capacity.
which are not much dearer than servis but come with a 5 year parts guarantee.
dont take my word for it though as i am biased having been an authorised hoover agent (they dont pay me any money) since the ealy sixties.
they are bult in wales and in my opinion are a perfectly acceptable does exactly what it says on the tin washing machine.
oh did i say hoover are owned by the italians then again there are very few companies which dont have foreign input after all we are all europeans.
awaiting the bullets coming my way just trying to help,
these opinions are mine and should not be confused with the general consensus of this website.(disclaimer).
hoover increase the load size by making the drum deeper, not by increasing the diameter of the drum.( fact)suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Which washer dryer?
i am sure other posters will shoot me down but why dont you go for a hoover. they are less expensive to buy and maintain and come with a 5 year parts and labour guarantee.
the basic range are available as either 6kg wash/ 4kg dry or 5kg wash/ 5kg dry i have had a hoover washer dryer for years and it drys well 9not as well as a seperate tumble drier) but it does the job. its easy to fix and parts are readily available and reasonably priced.
and no hoover dont put any money in my pocket.i am waiting for the usual unhelpful comments.
they are still manufactured in wales.

ParticipantRe: Which tabletop dishwasher should i buy?
thats virtually identical to my old hotpoint. they dont seem to have changed it much externally but obviously any energy saving should be good.
i always use loose soap powder (no own brand makes) and seperate rinse aid. no 5 in ones, tablets or bursts. because of the smal amount of water used you dont need much powder.
its a safe model as you have to switch it off before opening the door so no chance of water blasting out if someone opens the door accidentally.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Dishwasher NTC test
check the pressure switch its a black round thing that is fitted to the sump on rhs it is removed by turning half a turn it has a honeycomb grill which could be gunged up.
plug out please.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Which tabletop dishwasher should i buy?
i personally have a hotpoint compact 7891 tabletop dishwasher which is identical to a bosch model it has given years of good service although i have had to replace the motor impellor twice in 8 years.
its used at least twice a day it takes a deceptively lot of dishes and is easy to operate.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Hoover HW160m problem
a faulty tachometer coil or loose magnet on the motor can cause it to go at spin speed intermitently, also connections at motor plug should be checked.
plug out before checking.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: zanussi zt 695 dishwasher
not yet it was late the machine was badly integrated and the pug was in behind the dishwasher but i will certainly check the wires thanks for the reply.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Tumble Drier TC7102W
i had the same problem with this machine before and never got to the bottom of the problem it dried perfectly well but no water went into the condenser and no steam came out the machine.
and no water appeared on the floor.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: creda t632cw condenser dryer
just a thought is the water bottle full or not pushed in properly?
or it could be the relay.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Hoover WB120 001 hot water temp
the machine heats the water up regardless of how much cold water goes in.
if you call out an engineer the first thing i am sure he will ask you is what makes you think it is not heating?
however if you are really desperate to find out if it is heating disconnect the drain hose from the plumbing not the washing machine, tie the end of the drain hose to a tap so that the end is in the sink put it onto a 40 wash no buttons pressed, then the first time it empties, only the first time, the water should be hot.
40 degrees should be too hot to comfortably put your hand in, i take no responsibility if you scald yourself i am just trying to help.suedehead1

plug out before doing anything.
the things on the water valves are solenoids not sensors.
i would have imagined if the machine was not heating up it would not go through the program.however i get many calls where people are under the impression that their machines are not heating properly.
depending what program you use the machine only heats up at 1 part of the program, because of low water levels and sometimes double glazed doors then the door glass does not always get hot.even if the machine fills up completely with cold water the machine will still heat it up to required temperature.
if i get this type of call i usually ask what makes you think its not heating,
and i get various answers usually involving the temperature of the clothes coming out of the machine ie. they are very cold so they could never have been warm usually in the winter.perhaps someone will tell you how to check if it is heating but i would be more likely to ask you my usual question.i would also say that on 90 degrees it fills only with hot water on other programs it fills both hot and cold

check the end of the drain hose if it fits onto plumbing fitting first.
then if no joy carry out the following.this machine has a filter type device built into the sump hose.
dont touch the pump but remove the bottom panel at the back of the machine this will allow good access to the sump hose.
remove the hose from the tub end using a large pair of pliers or vice grips to take of the spring clamp. you will then see a plastic cup like device most likely to have fluff, coins etc. stuck in it.
clean it out and refit the hose and clamp ensure it is on nice and tight this should fix it.
let us now how you get on i would wear gloves watch out for sharp edges and if that spring clamp flies out your pliers it will take your eye out apart from that its fairly easy. -
