ParticipantRe: Washing Machine Won’t Fit! Help Please!
I’ve no idea of the thickness of the current lid though.
It’s probably somewhere between 20 and 25mm at a guess.

If there is one available for that model, it is probably no more than 1mm thick.
Obviously you would have to fork out for it though 😉 . Shouldn’t be too expensive though.

If you contact BSH Appliance Care spares dept on 08705 543210 there may be a “tin lid” available instead of the normal lid.
Definately don’t remove either the feet or the lid :nono:

Is is straightforward?
In a word no. If I was you I’d go down the engineer route.

ParticipantRe: Washer – Whirlpool or Bosch
Bosch is around £100 more, so is it worth splashing the extra cash
Definately, in my opinion. You will get a two year guarantee also with the Bosch 😉 .

mysterious flooded base problems.
Blame the 500 in 1 tabs for that one :rolls: .

ParticipantRe: Bosch slimline D/W
Would a flooded base stop the machine from stepping from Off position to very first drain impulse?
If I remember correctly, yes. On the older d/w’s instead of running the pump all the time a flooded base cuts the feed to the timer motor.
So unfortunately it’ll have to come out 🙁

To remove fascia, you have to prise it away with a screw driver from the underside.
As Martin said, door lock may be faulty.
Also had many customers call me out for similar, only to find child lock has been set :rolls: . Check the instruction manual for how to turn it off :rtm:

ParticipantRe: NEFF S5555X not cleaning upper tray (arms OK)
is there a separate diverter valve
Indeed there is. However it’s not a DIY job to replace I’m affraid. Involves a complete strip down of the m/c.
I would double check the spray arm though. Also make sure it is on the highest setting and nothing is obstructing it.

ParticipantRe: Bosch spin fault
I suspect the Module board is at fault,
Suspect you may be right Martin.
I don’t think fault codes are displayed numerically on that m/c, they tend to be displayed via flashing lights.
Will have a look for you later.

There were a few different 6544’s if you pull it out there should be a rating plate on the back.
Make sure you note ALL the numbers down.
We don’t even have any info on our laptops for them :rolls: . I had a problem trying to get a door seal for one last week as the preppers have to get the old microfiche out.

You will require a torx T15 (I believe) to remove the hook.
