Was this with an empty load or full load?
Or did you try it with just a towel on its own for test purposes?

The fact you can feel heat through the plastic window is definite proof its overheating on a 40oC.
Are you hard water, could be a nice layer of scale and muck on the ntc.

    Re: north west based work

A while back I spoke to 3 different training organisations. The following is what they all said about becoming Gas Safe….

Yes you do need to do the domestic core (CCN1) to hold any of the domestic gas appliances.

With no gas experience you would need to do our new entrants gas course and this would include all domestic gas appliances and not just CKR1.
I have attached information about our new entrants course:-

Thank you for your inquiry, the new entrant gas course involves four weeks of full time training followed by three days of ACS assessments. In between these two course components a portfolio of work, carried out under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered engineer, must be completed.
The cost of the course is split into two parts – £2,840.00 for the four weeks training and £1,225.54 for the three days assessments giving a total cost of £4,065.54 (including VAT).

As far as the portfolio is concerned approximately 40 jobs are required and this must be ready before your ACS assessments can be completed.

10 of these jobs are done during your training, the remainder needs to be completed, as mentioned, with a Gas Safe Registered engineer. If you do not know anyone we can offer you a work placement facility. This is for one week and the cost is an additional £720.00 (including VAT) and is carried out after your four weeks training.

Once successfully completed this course gives the candidate all the necessary qualifications he needs to become Gas Safe Registered in the domestic field.

Its tricky to determine which board is at fault, I would always go with the control board with a dead fault.
Vision tech boards, both main and selector are a pretty good price too.

Re: Advising the customer on buying a machine. Your top pick

    I had this reply from them when I emailed them in April;

Thank you for your email and your interest in our new washing machines.
We are in the process of finalising our distribution strategy for these appliances. We intend to sell through major retailers, direct and via independents partners which is inline with our current business strategy today.
For servicing we have a in house UK call centre team that will speak directly to customers and then

any servicing work we need completing will be out sourced to a national third party company on our behalf.

Thanks for reply, I haven’t seen the element but am assuming its a normal round element. Is there an equivalent non genuine version?
Connect don’t recognise that number. Qualtex do, but list it as a dual grill / oven element???

    Sorry to be a pain…
