Have the two machines with rinsing problems suffering from a partial blockage on the drain cycle I wonder?

Have you tried drying the motor out with a fan heater?

Espares are a good guide in some cases but not this one 😳

Looks like a £5.00 reverse terminal Plaset pump to me, this trade is a nightmare on pricing.

    Re: Bosch Parts Price Rant

As Chris says Whirlpool are one of the worst for over charging on spares.
I just wonder how many lost element sales Bosch have had on this particular part with the consequence of the dryer being scrapped way before the end of its useful life.
I am suprised insurance companies are not looking closer at this sort of thing as it is often them that has to pick up the bill.
I guess they put up their premiums to suite. Crazy world 😕
Fair play to Silverbroom for holding his hands up and no problems for going off topic, its an old topic anyway but still annoys me like hell 👿

    Re: Bosch Parts Price Rant

Silverbroom my post was comparing genuine parts at wildly inflated prices not pattern verses genuine.
However I think you are wrong to take that amount of money off a customer for the job you describe.
It is no wonder that Miele want to keep restrictive practices in place if the independent trade is going to behave in this way.

    Re: no work

Very slow for me as well. Not worked in this trade through a recession but can remember my dad being very busy during the last two recessions when doing this job.
I think the design of the modern machines are one of the main causes, motor brushes being more robust and now we are seeing more induction motors coming on to the scene. We now get very few calls to clean out pressure systems as they have been moved higher up the tub so they rarely get blocked.
There are many more reasons such as over priced parts our labour costs going up, insurance policies the rental market on the increase, coded boards, no on/off switches, sealed drum tubs etc.
Cant see much future in this game to be honest 😥

According to the BBC news this morning renting a washing machine is now back in fashion due to the credit crunch. Even less work for me 😥

    Re: Thin Hose Clips

These clips would also be handy for the latest Zanussi washing m/c tub to pump hose as they are now using a crimp on clip at the pump that is not reusable.

That is a good deal Ken.
Typical just had some delivered from http://www.stagonset.co.uk £16.57 for 12 clips 😥 they were stainless though.
The outside diameter of the tubular Hotpoint/Indesit dishwasher element(C00057684) is 40mm so clip 44mm to 63mm should do the trick Jim 😉

I always thought drilling holes in plastic drums was for cowboys but I noticed recently that Electrolux recommend this very thing for changing drum paddles in some of their machines. They do supply blanking bungs for the holes though.

Look around for a low mileage WM or pick up a recon machine from a trader with a good reputation.
