    Re: Hoover SE220 washer

Had the original motor damaged the board in my experience you would not be getting any motor action.
Power off when working on machine.

Brushes will give off very tiny sparks while working. Have you carried out an insulation test on this motor?. What are the readings?
Is water dripping onto the motor?
Carry out an insulation test on the heating element.
If the tripping happens on wash I cant see as this would be the fault of poorly bedded in brushes. Good luck.
Unplug from electricity supply before working on appliance.

Have you carried out component checks ie continuity on motor, water valves, heating element, drain pump etc I always find this is a good starting point if you are not sure what is wrong. Sounds like a possible drain pump problem.

May write to Waitrose as a concerned customer to see what comes back. Any ideas for the letter welcome!

Seems like Waitrose and the NHS and many other companies are cutting corners with Health and Safety on this one. You can give these workers the best guidance in the world as far as washing instructions go but as they are often on low wages many will probably wash at a low temperature to save money.

Its the change in the transit bolts that bother me Goatboy as I wonder if they have put in a cheap and nasty bearing set up that wont last.
Will find out a couple of years from now no doubt!

    Re: Lethal Zanussi F1045w

Customer took delivery of new replacement machine yesterday. 😆 Thanks to Andy for sorting this one out.
According to the customer the report on this machine stated that the door latch plate and door hook (striker) were worn. As this machine was only 3 years old and the customer first became aware of the problem when the machine was only two years old I find this worrying. This machine was still on its first set of motor brushes so had not had an abnormal amount of use. Lets hope this was a one off case.
    Thanks Turbo

    Re: Lethal Zanussi F1045w

Zanussi visited this machine Monday 20th Nov after I reported it on the Monday 6th Nov not sure why there has been such a delay?
The engineer tried a new door lock as I had done but with no effect it would still spin with the door open.
Now a senior engineer is going out next Monday 27th of Nov. 😥

Re: AWZ541/3 Whirlpool Condenser Dryer Help !

Thanks Chris, feared the worse and you have confirmed it.
Back to the original fault I was called in for (condenser light on no drum action) it looks like I dropped a clanger there as it has produced the same fault on test and as Ali-P suggested all I needed to have done was move the timer to the empty bucket symbol. You may ask why the customer did not realize this. Well I believe the daughter had been using the machine and this may have been the first time the tank had been allowed to over fill 😥

Re: AWZ541/3 Whirlpool Condenser Dryer Help !

Thanks for the help on this one. I have had it on test all afternoon and I have noticed that every so often when it changes direction you hear a cracking noise, a spark comes out the timer and the motor kicks back the other way without pausing. Could this be the cause of the fan working loose so early in its life.
