Yes on a job like that it always pays to check the condenser, motor brushes and for any limescale build up in sump and waste hoses.
I have a Zanussi W1250W which is similar and the drain pump does not operate until 10 mins into the drying cycle.
Does it fill and start washing ?March 17, 2007 at 11:57 am in reply to: AEG L12700VIT no display after testing pump terminals #208059Turbo

Did you not clean out the condenser unit when you changed the element ?

They cannot make a conventional machine so I dread to think what troubles there will be with this new design. 😆

ParticipantRe: whats the best washer/dryer for £500
Installed a brand new zanussi washer dryer on Fri which still had the bolted drum Jim but as you say they could land up with a welded tub we just dont know whats under the bonnet at the moment.

Avoid them if you can but Zanussi would be my choice, if you can get a non Jetsystem model that would be better as the limescale blocks these up early on in their life. Also buy the split cabinet version as these are best.

ParticipantRe: AEG Welded Tubs
A retail sales guy that I know mentioned the welded tub to the Electrolux rep that called into his shop only this week. He said there was no such thing as a welded tub 😆 and that they were held together by 17 screws as they have always been, after all that would be ridiculous as you would have to scrap the inner and outer drum.
Electrolux need to keep their reps more up to date about the latest throw away machines that they are manufacturing, only then can the reps put a spin on things instead of shooting themselves in the foot. 😉

ParticipantRe: bosch tumble dryer blown heater
I think its just a poor quality heater unit myself. If the heater was staying on would the emergency stat not pop out? I reckon Bosch are having to change hundreds of these under Gtee 😥 Changed one yesterday so will be keeping my fingers crossed. If I get caught a couple of times I shall stop doing them.

ParticipantRe: new type hotpoint door gasket fitting !!
Got called to one of these a year ago, it had a new door seal fitted by Indesit but it was not sealing properly on that horrible securing band. Suggested she called them back. I wont be doing any of these in future.

Dont get involved with this one. I would give him his money back as then he cant hold you to the agreed estimate.

ParticipantRe: Hoover SE220 washer
Sounds like the motor could be the problem. If the brushes in the old motor are good put them in the recon motor as you can be sure they are bedded in ok. There is a chance that you could damage the electronics if you keep trying to run a faulty motor and of course there is a safety issue here if the motor fails a insulation test.
Unplug when working on machine.
