    Re: Masterpart Again.

What’s the link to their eBay site? Just want to check it out and compare.

New website is just loads of nice photos of common parts, more a nice looking general public website than a trade one.

I think a lot of us agrees with you there. Their current website is too data heavy if this makes sense, pictures too big on one page (I think 10 items per page) then you have several pages to scroll through. Time consuming.

Qualtex uses thumb sized pictures and can get through 20 or 50 items on one page thus speeded up the scrolling.

I was asked for my comments on their website and it seems that my constructive comments fell onto deaf ears.

I’m frustrated as I get their monthly catalogue knowing that their prices are good but the experience on-line puts me off.

    Re: Masterpart Again.

They are offering free 48 hours delivery service. Would that tempt you to return? I don’t have large stock turnover as I tend to order the parts as when as required which meant the free delivery would not make a difference.

LG washer has been known for worn shocks. They are not expensive to replace so it might be worth trying.

The trouble with John Lewis (JL) , they are selling their own branded appliances and at the moment these are Zanussi’s based which comes with its own sets of problems. It tarnishing the brand as people who buys JL machines had full confidence on the appliance only to find out that they are being sold something different even with those extended warranty and they do not seem to live up to the expectations of JL customers.

I am slowly seeing more and more customers opting for JL for their “excellent” range of appliances at a reasonable price even with the delivery and connection charges still comes out favourable. In this part of Birmingham, the nearest JL is in Solihull but next year it would be even closer as they are building on top of Birmingham New Street station. (Easy for my customers to visit and caress the appliances then come home turnaround within an hour) I dread to think what it would means to my business so hopefully it would not affect the business.

I use Santander because of their free banking for life. I opened the account 4 years ago, Santander still comes out good deal with those small monthly fee.

    Re: Candy GOC58F Capacitor

I had something similar with Hoover tumble dryer condensing. The capacitor was not listed as part instead directed me to a new motor.

I found an alternative and bought a replacement capacitor 8uf from different source. Fitting it was not easy. Took me two hours.

It’s not that bad honest. She won’t hire me for the job since I charged her for the repair of her tumble dryer.

All she wanted her machine drained so it would not stink over the weekend. We help each other out kids wise.

Re: Servis two tub – spinner not working according to an old

Visited the twin tub, needs spin belt. The owner said she threw away a round plastic(?) ring which fell off underneath. Have a feeling this part is vital(?). No sign of fallen belt as it was nowhere to be found. Either the elf took it or the owner binned it.

The model number is Servis 1116, serial number is 006243. Assumed purchase date march 1987.

The owner’s handbook does not appear to match the actual machine. The actual machine is Servis supertwin 111 but the handbook says Lasertwin 115.

Basically it needs new spin belt. Is it a stretch type like with polyvee belt on modern front loader without moving the motor to adjust?

Do you have this belt available?

    Re: Daytime running lights

The worse thing that those DRL’s are lit on the front but not the rear? At least Volvo has the common sense to use both ends. Some cars that have indicator built into the headlight that are too small to see when flashing with the headlight on. I think it should be kept separate like Land Rover Defender.

Most people with new cars especially with digital dashboard that are lit throughout not realising that the headlights may not be lit. I’ve lost count how many people drive like this usually by women. The worse offenders are Citroen, Peugoet, Merc and VW based vehicles.

I’ve heard lots of different ways to get the clamp back on, I find the easiest way is to get it on 3/4 of the way round and then just lever it over the lip. Have done a few this way now

Most people are walking away from the said machine due to the hook and wire clamp, not me as I found a nifty trick using cable tie.
