Re: Bosch WIS24141GB Bearings failed within 1 year

    Forgot to update this.
Bosch called to machine and agreed it requires bearings.
the bearings come as part of the tub rear half and was out of stock in UK and Germany so they agreed to replace machine so we are not going to find out what the cause was.

So what is the difference to the way a machine is used now?
Users have been doing cool/warm washes for a good few years, this machine has only been used with a quality powder not liquid and dosing according to the detergent manufacturers instructions.
It is a very hard water area but other machines in the same area have not had bearings fail (unless they are a make/model prone to bearing failure).

    Thanks Martin.

So is the sealant used instead of the sealing strip supplied with the hob originally?

    Nice.
I’ve got to go round and fit a door seal on their washing machine next week so will take a look at that at the same time.

    Thanks Martin.

I thought the rinse light only shows up a fault when the motor attempts to turn during the cycle. Why would it kick into a spin when first powered up? If the tacho was O/C would the motor run before a program is set?

    Thanks,
I think the closest I can find is for a Beko but not sure if exactly the same.
I guess I will have to go back and take another look.

Re: Hoptpont WMF760P(UK).R Washng machine door seal rubs

Thanks for the suggestion using the dbt111.
I have already suggested the customer tries a 90deg wash, if that doesn’t solve it I will get the non gen door seal.

    Thanks RocketMan,
why don’t customers listen when you tell them not to buy Hotpoint?
I will get the customer to put the machine on a 90deg wash with detergent and see what happens.

Re: De Dietrich oven trips electrics when turned off.

    Thanks for the suggestion Eastimark,

There was originally an insulation fault with 3 elements.
The upper grill was 28M’Ohms dropped to 6.8M’Ohms when hot
The Bottom Grill was 50M’Ohm didn’t deteriorate when hot
Top Oven lower element was clear when cold but dropped to 1.2M’Ohm when hot.
The fan remained clear in both conditions.
The customer was going to go ahead and have all elements replaced but I suggested we only change the 2 worse ones as at 50M’Ohm I didn’t think it would be enough to trip and it didn’t deteriorate when hot.
I also had a look at the selector switch for signs of melting and arcing but as far as I could tell it looked OK and it didn’t spark when being switched.
The thing that I don’t understand is why it should trip only at the point of turning the oven off particularly when it doesn’t happen when the thermostat cuts in and out.
